Has had his ups and downs, but mostly ups. Celebrate his years of play. He was a player, but able to keep it on the downlow by not knocking out his dates or hooking up with gangsta thugs and not killing people who bumped into him.

Way to go Derek! Hope you have a great retirement and thank you for your awesome career.

I absolutely despise the Yankees, but Derek Jeter is one of my favorite players.

More like one in a decade of millions of ballplayers that attempt to make it to the bigs. He's really one for the ages of the game. There's really nothing on his dossier but total RESPECT and ADMIRATION from all other players and fans.

I am so glad that the Yankees are not in the playoffs. Jeter at bat in the bottom of the 9th of the 7th game of the world series witht the winning run at 3rd..... ESPN world would explode.

Same exact sentiment for me. Yankmees ruin all of baseball with their payroll.
