El Campo is coming off a heartbreaking 28-24 loss to rival Wharton while the Panthers are coming off a 39-0 win over Bay City

This will be a very good game. St. Pius has a set of running backs that can run through just about anything. The quarterback, Roberts, LOVES throwing the deep ball so if the Rice Birds can keep those three guys in check they are capable of a 2 touchdown victory.

The Ricebirds also have an advantage of playing at home on turf.

I know that it is tough to have repeaters in the GOTW , but, Scoop is right....this could be one heck of a contest.

I believe Wharton was a wake up call. The second half they played sloppy unlike what you usally see from a Bird team. (ofcourse Wharton may have had something to do with that) I look to see the Birds right their ship this week and get a win going into District Play Hope they can run the table from here on out and have a nice play off run. Im sure the player are unhappy to see a 12 year streak against Wharton come to an end on them so they work even harder

Hopefully the young Ricebirds grew up some with last weeks loss. With a big chunk of their senior leadership still sidelined they better have. Especially the line backers. If they haven't it could be a long night for the Birds I'm betting they have.

Ricebirds 28 - 14

Ricebird defense righted its ship in the 2nd half by shuting down SPX ground game and intercepting 4 passes ( one was a pic 6) all except one leading to scores. In the first half they had 2 interceptions (one was nullified buy a penality)
this friday when Stafford plays SPX that should be an interesting game
