The Rams made too many mistakes against Iowa Park. I dont look for them to repeat the same mistakes. Its homecoming for the Rams. Coach Perry has a young but hungry team. Look for the upset at beautiful Ram Stadium.

Look for the upset at beautiful Ram Stadium.

That is one pretty stadium yall have. Every time I go there I get jealous. I think I have made at least one playoff game there every year it has been open.

I really wanted to vote for the Cheerleaders too, but they already had a big lead in the poll....so I went ahead and voted for the Wildcats. I guess that would be okay with the Wildcat cheerleaders at least, lol.

GodleyEast

pat, lol never put cheerleaders in the poll choices in a game of this magnitude......i'm pulling for the cats, but would have voted for cheerleaders if i was eligable for the voting.

Correction it was 40-9 . I watched every miserable minute of that game. I knew losing our QB was going to be tough but we got rolled by a Team with 2 game losing streak and was 1-9 last year. We got 2 weeks for our staff and Team to get it fixed or it will be a long year for a program that won 50 games the past 6 years.

Correction you got beat by a team with a new coach and a new attitude. Look for MW to make some noise the next two years as this team is loaded with sophmores.

Maybe so but our best DB is playing Basketball and we don't seem to have a replacement plus our area leading QB is out for 6-8 weeks. I am looking toward to your visit to our House next Fall.

Those 50 wins came in a lower division. I know your injured but it's going to be a rough season. I thought this would be closer seeing as Godley played Bport close and Bport lost to Mineral Wells in OT. But Decatur steam rolled Bport last night so that def throws up some warning signs for your Godley.

I was going to ask about that, they had 2/3 of the total votes... How did the cheerleaders do?

Godley will be fine, there's typically a little bit of a learning curve when moving up a classification. They're used to winning 10-13 games a year, so it's going to take some patience.

We look forward to the challenge. Mineral Wells has two sophomore QB's waiting in the wings. Nearly everyone else will be back. I look for them to challenge Graham for the district title the next two years.

Correction it was 40-9 .

Correction it was really 37-9.

Mineral Wells came out and played until they scored again, and let off The gas (Thank you Mineral Wells) .

They scored 30 points in the first half. They did not have a field goal in the second half. Just a touchdown. I know it might have felt like forty because it felt like sixty to me.

Our QB who is out was the key to our Offensive engine. We got an open date before we hit district and we got to learn to win on the win on the Road. Our staff got their work cut out for them.

Also we are a little down on this group of SR' s this year . Most recent years we had 14-18 Sr boy who had been through our system this year we got about 10.

Here are some numbers to look at for both teams.

2014 Mineral Wells (TX) [14.6]

08/29 Beat Bridgeport (TX) 27-20 [opponent rating: 9] [performance: 24*]

09/05 Beat Joshua (TX) 38-21 [opponent rating: -3.1] [performance: 13.9]

09/12 Lost to Glen Rose (TX) 23-14 [opponent rating: 27.3] [performance: 12.3*]

09/19 Lost to Iowa Park (TX) 49-27 [opponent rating: 21.1] [performance: -0.9]

09/26 Beat Godley (TX) 37-9 [opponent rating: 2.2] [performance: 30.2**]

TREND (COUNTING NON-GRAYED GAMES ONLY): NEUTRAL

UPCOMING:

10/09 at Hirschi (Wichita Falls, TX) [opponent rating: 0]

10/17 vs Decatur (TX) [opponent rating: 20.3]

10/24 at Graham (TX) [opponent rating: 44.3]

After the game, Heres what the numbers say about the 2 teams:

they are calling Mineral Wells a 14.7 and Godley a 2.2

14.7 means your not too bad, 2.2 means slightly better than awful but just barely.

They also show that the 2 game losing streak Mineral Wells was on was against Glen Rose(27.3) and Iowa park(21.1) they were supposed to lose those two. Keep in mind Godley is rated a (2.2) The worst performing Godley team since 2005.

I think its a little unfair to compare the current Godley program to The Godley program that won 50 games. I saw were someone talked about a new coach and a new attitude. The Godley program has changed. Its a new coach, new program, new style, new attitude. Its all totally new.

Here are a few more numbers:

Mineral Wells(4a div 1) had 5A numbers just a very short time ago. there enrollment numbers this year 904 are almost double the numbers of Godley(4a div) at 488.

Mineral Wells is by far the best team we have played this year. They have a great running back, a good passing attack, and a defense that the Wildcats could not rush the ball against. Our leading rusher had 37 yards, and our #1 tailback had less than 20 yards.

The fact is Mineral Wells now has a better program than Godley. The past doesnt mean a dang thing.

to you fans of MW: You have a nice thing going over there with a young team and the future looks bright. I hope you keep it going and make a strong playoff push. Good luck the rest of the way.

First the bad:

2014 2.2
2013 28.8

2004 -4.8
2003 -19.8 The last time we moved up to this classification (the old 3a)

We are rated pretty low right now.

Now the good!

Look at the ratings of our 5 district opponents:1omg!:

UPCOMING:

10/10 vs Ferris (TX) [opponent rating: 2.3]

10/16 at Madison [James] (Dallas, TX) [opponent rating: -15.7]

10/24 vs Lincoln (Dallas, TX) [opponent rating: -0.3]

10/30 at Roosevelt [Franklin D.] (Dallas, TX) [opponent rating: -35.1]

11/07 vs Venus (TX) [opponent rating: -7.2]

This has got to be the weakest district across the board that I have ever seen. Godley could run the table and win the district championship. Will they? maybe....

all they have to do is win one or two games and they are in the playoffs.most likely just 1. Will they get to the playoffs? Sure. I think our JV could make the playoffs in this district.

The Question is, If they run the table and win the district, Can they win a playoff game? Maybe, but they better run the table. I think a 3 or a 4 seed we would be HEAVY underdogs in a playoff game after playing such a low level of competition.

Our playmaker Qb has an ACL MCL and is out for 6-8 months i would bet out of athletics for the remainder of the school year. We also have other injuries but i assume all of those players will return to duty.

Our best DB plays on the football team. he will decide if he wants to play basketball when football is over. The DB I keep reading about doesnt have anything to do with this football team. he used to be a good player.

Its the bye week and a good time for it. I hope we can get it together and win the next game. Go Wildcats!

Great analysis and I expected us to win District based on the data I gathered from Lone Star Football and other sites. Losing our QB hurt us but with the bye week I except our staff and Team to circle the wagons . I remember that 3A cycle about 10 years ago. It was the lowest talent level in the 20 years I been around Godley.
