These two haven't played since 2011 with Sandcrabs winning. Calhoun hopes to get back in the winning track after two straight losses while Cuero hopes for win number 4.

It will be interesting to see how the Defense performs agents the Sand crabs.

I'm surprised Calhoun is willing to play Cuero. They are running the risk of actually encountering a team with athletes.

Got to give them a little credit they did play Da Bears. This will be a hard year for the Crabs playing the Houston area not the Corpus area for District.

Man another home game at the at The Fighting Gobbler Stadium I love the new seating. Only bad thing is when the Go Mean Green is done it doesn’t have the impact with everyone spread out now. Also they do it on the jumbotron so some people get lazy.

It's smart for them to play Cuero. That new dist in Houston area is loaded with athletes
Might as well get use to it in non dist. Big crowd next Friday Calhoun follows great.

Should be a good contest for both these teams. Anyone no status of health of these teams? Cuero has a tough schedule of games yet to be played with Giddings and Columbus before starting a tough district 15 schedule. Team that stays healthiest will be most likely to win district.

I thought my sarcasm was obvious. Calhoun has been hiding down in Region IV for several years now.

Cuero will be a picnic compared to playing George Ranch, Foster and Angelton .

If i remember right Calhoun knock defending state champs out last
year in QF .They are rebuilding this yr. Your sarcasm was not real
obvious. Cuero has lots of athletes as does the 3 teams u mention.

I believe the Gobblers run defense will do just fine this week and cause a couple of fumbles. It doesn't look like Calhoun as much of a defense the least amount of points the gave up in a game is 35. Cuero will win big.

Calhoun is not the team it was last year but don't think the Sandcrabs will lose by 4 touchdowns

The kind of offense the crabs run seems to always spring some big plays. Always makes me a lil nervous.

I can't believe the score of the crabs' game against Moody. I'm thinking this one gets ugly but Calhoun scores some points along the way.

D'Anthony Hopkins shows why he is one of the best backs in the state. (Projection: 30 for 300 yards) Well rested after Smithville game. Cuero romps, 55-20.

Calhoun 21 Cuero 17 Final. Close game Calhoun intercepted in end zone with just a few seconds left to seal the win.

Each team held the other to about half the yardage the teams have been averaging.

Wow. I was stunned they shut Hopkins down totally rushing. Couple TD's via the air. Calhoun isn't close to the Calhoun of the last few years, so I thought Cuero would blow them out at home. Think I'd kept feeding Martinez the ball, like they did with DH in the first two games of the season. Kid looked good and averaged a first down per carry . Entertaining game for a football fan without cares who wins.

Nice upgrade to stadium though 44.

Helluva game! Even though cuero came up short, it was a nail biter. I posted pics on Instagram. @gobblerfootball

I agree. They were not gonna let DH beat them and that let Martinez run free. He also had a big catch on a low throw on 4th down to keep the last drive alive and had a couple of big hits on defense. He is an all around good player. But my hats off to Calhoun....they played their game and played it well.

Here's another big surprise win by Calhoun. I suspect Calhoun is a better team than most folks credited them. Cuero is a premier force in R4 and will learn from this game and be better for it going forward.

Wow, I was wrong about this one. Great win for the Crabs. Cuero will be fine, but I am surprised Calhoun's defense held them to 17.

Cuero will be ok. A lost in non dist against a good opponent
Is a good learning opportunity. They be tough in next 2 non-dist
games. The opening dist game in Yoakum will be a war. I seen both
of them play and they are both very solid. In fact that hold dist is
very good.

Crabs had good game plan kept Cuero O off the field ran down clock went for it on 4th and short all the time and exposed the Gobblers weak spots . The Gobblers will need to work on this if they face another team that runs this boring yet effective O not fun to watch but gets the job done. The CB's would hold the WR'S and take the flag to avoid the long TD when they got beat let Gobblers try to push it in from the red zone shorten the field it worked well for them. Cuero had a shot to win it in the end but fell short. The Gobblers were missing a key player hope he will be back next week.
