Wharton is coming off a big 85-0 smashing win over Needville and Sealy is coming off a 17-14 loss to Houston St. Pius
Expect a low scoring game with the Tigers from Wharton County pulling it out at the end

This will be a competitive game. Sealy will put some athletes on the field.

I don't think it will be an easy game at all. I see it as a pick um or Wharton slightly favored. Sealy has played well defensively in both games and struggled a little on offense the last game. Wharton has athletes all over the field. Should be a great game Friday night at Tiger Statdium.

Wrong again. Final was 14-13 after td on last play was called back because of a dirty hit that injured a Sealy player.

The Wharton Journal-Spectator had the score at 20-13 with the Sealy blocked field goal try returned for a TD as counting as a score. since the play had not been called dead yet

There was a penalty against Wharton during the run back of the blocked FG. Time had already expired so there was no need to make them clear the field so they could kneel for one play. The score should be 14 -13.

This game was a classic tale of two halves. The first was all Sealy The second was all Wharton. And in the end Wharton took home the win. As far as the score I'm not sure myself. It was a blocked kick recovered by Wharton and returned for an apparent TD. A penalty was called but here's where it got confusing with an injured player on the field as a result of the block everyone stood around waiting for a decision to be made and finally the game was called. The officials can claim some credit for the confusion as well as a blotched placement of the ball with seconds left. As the ball was tossed in the official dropped it and had trouble placing it. All the while the clock was running. Sealy had a time out to use, but the officials used at least 10 seconds chasing the ball down. The Sealy defense was solid in the first half stopping the high octane Wharton offense. A huge sack took Krenek to the ground and seemed to rattle him.
Wharton kept in the game by shutting down the running game that seemed centered on the QB. Sealy has some pretty quick RB'S and a big body in # 1 but he was not used in short distance situations for whatever reason. Sealy missed an extra point early and the drive late in the game was stopped short resulting in the missed field goal attempt which was the second one after the first one fell well short but I believe a defensive penalty gave Sealy another chance.
