What are some of the games you want for GOTW?

West Orange-Stark at Jasper

Coldspring-Oakhurst at Navasota (Losing some of its luster)

Gilmer at Tatum

Celina at Argyle

Gilmer/Tatum and Celina/Argyle are obvious

So far Jasper isn't looking like what it was last year but that's our biggest rival so is always a good game and it will be in Jasper. Don't know if it should be game of the week though. Especially since WOS had a GOTW last week.

I agree but I was going on tradition with that nomination.

That should be La Grange's toughest game of the regular season from this point on shouldn't it? WOS will have their comeuppance against Richmond Foster in Week 5 the way they're looking.

This is the year of the La La La's.... LaMarque, LaGrange and LaVernia. All 3 have a shot at getting out of their regions for sure.

I figured this past Friday LaVernia/Calhoun was the game of the week. But, Crabs no match. Not sure this coming Friday's contest will be much closer. Gilmer/Tatum might be a close one.

I didn't say that. Maybe a 40 point victory though.

I think LG gives ya more trouble than Calhoun. LG is balanced with speed. But, ya'll are good for sure and dern sure didn't get any respect by many of the so-called experts.

I'm rooting for LV. But the problem with the system is it's the usual suspects that always get the respect. Be the Fairfield of 2014! Except win at the end. The teams who are consistently Region IV have gotten no respect for decades in this classification except for a very few exceptions. Cuero, Sinton, Port Isabel but only Cuero has managed to win a title. And Wimberley and Liberty Hill don't count although they were in Region IV when they won some of their titles but have been placed in pretty much every region over the years.

There's always a dark horse waiting to emerge. The usual suspects are usually their for a reason as well. Trust the program. Unlike college football and the BCS, in HS football teams still have to play the games. The cream rises to the top. ;)

No surprise here, I'm going to see Gilmer @ Tatum. Tatum folks have me convinced that the Eagles are gonna put up a heck of a fight and are not to be taken lightly. Praying for at least a slight breeze, as I'm hoping not to get smoked out by the Tatum Booster Clubers cookin them turkey legs behind the visitor stands.

cookin them turkey legs

Some get upset around here when those are cooked and served annually in October around here. And we have no issue when they cook hot Dogs.

Gilmer @ Tatum will be a barn burner. They say it is their year. Buckeyes know it is theirs. Respected but no love loss. There will be crying.

There are some really good games this week. But Celina/Argyle, Wylie/Graham, Gilmer/Tatum are the ones that jump off the page for me. The latter of the two could turn out to be some really good playoff matchups later down the road too.
