Mustangs packing to play Mules

Sweetwater came gallop-ing out of the gates to start its 2014 football season last week by thumping Lubbock High, 66-35, in one of its prolific offensive outbursts in school history.
That game was played at Sweetwater’s historic Mus-tang Bowl, which is celebra-ting its 75th anniversary this year, so a history-making win — which happened at the 10th annual Sammy Baugh Classic, no less — was perhaps fitting.

Just got home from the JV game. Mustangs won 42-26

We're going to make the trip up to Muleshoe tomorrow. So, I'll post updates and a pic or two from the game.

Also, we are going to stay over in Lubbock and head to Lowery Field for Andrews/Lubbock High at 2pm
Saturday afternoon. I'll post updates from that game also.

Last week, the Mules were down against Levelland 7-28 in the 2nd Quarter, but came back to beat the Lobos 48-46.

They did last year but I believe the kid, who is a senior and the son of a long time Sweetwater coach, has
chosen to focus on golf where he was only a few strokes away from qualifying for the state tournament last year.
