I think if Yoakum beats Hallettsville they will move into top
20. That will be a challenge because Hallettsville has not lost 2 in a row in yrs and they really get after it when they play Yoakum. Last year game came down to last minute and I think the same this yr.
Those R 4 teams that made top 20 deserve to be there. Keep it up.

Hallettsville lost their star QB to transfer. Moved to Goliad iirc. They're not the same without him, it seems.

And to be perfectly honest, I'm surprised Port Isabel is in the Top 20, as young a team as they are.

The LaGrange game might be a better ND gauge bd for the voters. Yes, we (from the area) know HV is tough no matter their QB situation, when they play us. They get up for us, like we do Cuero. Records, stats, personnel mean nothing to them in this one.

We are right were we should be currently in polls. We ain't proved nothing yet. Many haven't to be honest. 1 game in? Keep winning and it all filters out in the end. Plus, we have our top back out still. Hopefully back by district? MRI this week will confirm the severity and length out. One of the 11 different rushers we used Friday should cover him while he is out.

We seem to always get a solid player hurt in scrimmages. Just gotta keep plugging away and try to create some usable depth for the tough district games.

Even with there QB I think Hallettsville will be a very quality opponent . As YT said they really get up for Yoakum more than Yoakum gets up for them. Allways been the case. Yoakum having LG a week before the dist opener against Cuero will be a tough assignment. But it they want to make a deep run this yr they better get use to back to back really good teams. I was at Cuero game Friday and was getting updates on Yoakum game from Cuero fans. Guess who on Cuero mind this year. From what I saw its going to be a great game. But lots of football before then.
Hate to here about the other Hights kids injury. He a load on offense and defense. But like YK said running back is Yoakum deepest position.

I think Yoakum should replace PI. The bulldogs are loaded with talent. Nothing against PI but Yoakum deserves some recognition.

UH!!! No we are not the No 1 D2 team trust me on this. Take us and move us down somewhere between Sintorn and Monahans. I think as the season progresses and we avoid the injury bug well we can talk then about the rankings.
