WOS leads 16-3 against PNG since 1984 with the Indians getting their first win against us since 1996 last year in a 3 point squeaker at the Reservation. Lot's of smack talk going on elsewhere but they haven't beaten us at home in over 30 years and that was the one and only time 17-14 in 1983 and when you play PNG... where you play makes a big difference. If you've ever been to a PNG game in Port Neches you would understand why. Should be a good game but given we play at home and what we have coming back and as long as our new QB keeps it up after his stellar performance last week and the match ups as they are we shouldn't have a problem. Coach Thompson is the King of Defense for 35 years plus and knows PNG and their trick plays they like to pull. PNG was the only local squad that sent staff over to watch our scrimmages so that says something. Wish I could be there for the game.


We've won 9 out of the last 10 times. WOS had a history of perpetually thwarting them in extremely close games ('98-'03) to the point that they refused to play us for 9 years. They still make me nervous as it's a long rivalry, they are a much larger school than WOS and they just had a big win over Clear Lake. That being said I still take WOS.

PNG has a good ball club this year and I expect a very competitive game.I think PNG will test our secondary, they didn't look that good against LCM.Our soph.QB did a good job for his first game.He threw two bad passes that should have been picked off but the defenders droped both.I see this game as a toss up and the team with the fewer mistakes will most likley win.
