Graham should win this game based on returning talent from another semi finals team. With the game being in the Wood and the Lions having solid talent return from last season and a solid performance last week against Gatesville, this could set up to be a great game.

This should be a good test for both programs.

This game will show just how improved Brownwood is. Graham is the obvious favorite, I'm guessing probably a 3 TD favorite in the polls. I'm not saying Brownwood has to win this game to show that they've improved, but this game will be a much better measuring stick than last week's game. Granted I was very surprised at the final score of last week's game against Gatesville.

Tell us about Vernon. Did Vernon lose a lot from last year? I saw they were 10-3 last year so I expected them to play Graham a little closer than they did.

Brownwood looked pretty good overall against Gatesville, just a little rough around the edges which is to be expected this early in the season. I was impressed by the qb and #54 on defense.

I don't think it will surprise anyone if the score is somewhat close. Both programs have always got up for each other and have a long game history, a little broken but long. Resorected during the Shipley/McCoy eras, there have been some really good battles. Now if Brownwood beats Graham this week, yeah, eyebrows will be permemtly frozen in the shock-n-awe position! ;)

I think this game could be a little closer than some might think. Graham definitely has some kinks to work out on both sides of the ball. The new QB is very solid, but the receivers have to do a better job of catching the ball. Defense had a couple of bright spots last week, but does have some holes it needs to fill as well. The game against Vernon could have been closer coming out of the half if Vernon didn't have such horrible clock management. I think this group of kids and coaches will make the necessary adjustments though!

Frankly, I was shocked by the score. I was in San Angelo so I couldn't make the game. From what I heard on the radio; Gatesville has some talented skill players and their offensive line is big. It seems our defense just out hustled them all night. We have only one senior starting on defense. Our QB is for real, he was like 18 of 21. I think the real test will come this week when we face Graham.

I agree 100% our QB can get the ball there,the receivers may have to take a dent in the chest but then so be it!! I'll still take graham by 14!!

Youth and miscues killed the Lions tonight, and a very good Graham Steers team. Lions missed several opportunities to stay in the game, and killed by youthful penalties. Gotta have a few handfuls of coaching thrown in to correct our mistakes. Brownwood will be Ok going forward, just a rebuilding year.

I'm stuck out on the east coast so I did not see the game. Although reading the stats this morning it looks like a pretty good game.
5 turnovers and too many penalty's. Congrats. Graham Steers, good luck hope we can try again in round one.

Brownwood is never a gimme ! They have some Stud players and it's still early in the year!! Work work work and praying for no injuries!!
