Like most posters that aren't in that district, I tend to believe La Vernia will be stout this season. BUT.....I wouldn't exactly discount the Texans so easily. They have been rebuilding for 2 seasons and have a winning tradition. Nelms left and then there was an adjustment with the new staff, as well as a loss of seasoned starters. Haven't heard much from their peeps this season.....what does that mean? Are they silently "sittin' there" waiting for this big game, or what??? Might end up being one of those great games of the opening weekend.

I agree Snot, I think the Texans can keep it close for a while, I'm hoping for a long while into the 4th.

Regal they have been rebuilding and the skill players are almost all seniors that have played varsity since soph year. The line will start a freshman and two soph, but they are good for their age. the D will be smallish but quick. So I think WT may be good, but a very hard schedule first 5....If they got a good draw into the play offs (R 4) they could take it a few games deep for sure.

I've been busy behind the scenes aggressively recruiting the refs from Sealy games past to ensure that if it is close in the 4th the odds are in our favor, especially if LV goes for two. lol

Very funny Tejas, only about a dozen or so on here that know what the hell you mean.Lol....Seems like yesterday... Still curious if Seals-Jones is the real deal for big time or not. I'm leaning towards yes.

A few weeks ago I remember reading about improvements and construction going on around Wimberley's stadium. What's the status of the projects and what's the parking situation like? I've always liked Wimberley's stadium and I'm curious to see the new features. I'm hoping my work schedule works out so I can make it up there. Wishing the Texans and the Bears a well-played and injury-free game. Should be a good one.

Sure thing. I'd suggest that all try and get here a little early. Most of the upgrades are still in progress so traffic may be a little more hectic than the norm.

Pretty hard game to watch. LV D and QB looked solid, but lots of mental mistakes on O.

Can't remember the last time the Texans were shutout. Our O-line will get better and there were signs of life in the 2nd half. Defense was on the field way too long. Congrats to the Bears on the win and best of luck the rest of the season.

I thought LV would win 35-13. Bo told me on Weds, if they gave up 13, he'd be shocked. They are a very talented team, and the Calhoun, Sinton games will really speak volumes to me, how far this team will go.

We couldn't pass block at all. Every pass play looked like a jail break.

We came out committed to run in the 2nd half, which made us look better, but our defense wore down.

LaVernia was an awful matchup for us in week 1. They're experienced and legit.

Committed to run in the second half is a understatement, we did the exact same in the first half! That was the worst play calling and then adjustment at half I have seen in a while, or should I say ever. It was bad and there is no way to sugar coat it.
