I reckon it'll be a big surprise, surprise, surprise for the Eagles fans this season, haha. Just no news and no posters to give us an update. Nothing on the website to speak of. Must've been one of those vanilla-type scrimmages. Next week will be in Argyle against Cleburne and not on a Saturday. Maybe we can get an update then.

Argyle will be a work in progress this season. Rebuilding season for sure. I'm afraid we'll be hearing more about the Fredericksburg Billie's than the Argyle Eagles this season!

Why is it that we never caught 'em in a re building year? Seems with us, they were already built.

Argyle was hammered by Ferris. Coach Rodgers had to stop the scrimmage to save the team from any additional injuries, both mental and physical. I heard the coaching staff was talking with the band director this morning to see if they could spare any additional kids from the woodwind section. Gotta fill out the defense and the brass section has already been raided.

I was told by a few reliable sources that they looked as good as last years team, a little more speed. The Coaches kid plays QB and threw a few TD passes and that the big running back could not be stopped. They scored on every offensive series with the First Team offense and from what I was told and the first team defense did not allow any first downs.

That sounds more like it. It looks like the demise of the Argyle Eagles this season has been greatly exaggerated.

Like I said earlier....the team will be a work in progress. It's a very competitive early schedule to force the issues right outta the gate. If they can get some momentum and confidence with some quality wins early on, without any serious injuries, then this team should do well come playoff time. I think they'll get what they need with this season's schedule.

If you've driven from Ft. Worth to Denton(or vice versa) on 35 W, you've been on its western border, haha. The town proper is like 2 miles off 35W 8 miles S. of Denton on 377.

Perot Jr. is fixin' to turn Argyle into a 5A school.

Little known fact: At this time in 1968, Gilmer ISD had ascended to what is today's 5A because of the combined effects of integration and consolidation (East Mountain ISD, whose still-angry-after-all-these-years voters will also keep us from ever having a new high school).

Argyle is like a lot like the SLC's and Aledo's of the North Texas region. Millionaires everywhere.

Argyle has the resources in player pool just like all the other well to do suburbs. They will cock and reload just about every year.

I was up in that area a month ago for a soccer qualifying tournament that was actually in Flower Mound, just next door to Argyle. Crazy how that area has exploded in growth.

I'm thinking there is a war coming down the road a piece between Argyle Eagles and the Stephanieville Yallerjackets

Do Yellowjackets perform any viable good works in nature, or are they just basically pests? We all know what Eagles symbolize and that they are basically creatures that maintain a balance in the natural environment.

A pest is a pest no matter what it is or looks like. Eagles can be as much a pest as anything. Now a bald eagle is a different symbolism all together. Arglye Eagles aren't bald eagles unless you're an Eagle and bald of course.

I knew Yellowjackets are prolific in Texas, but didn't count on Argyle becoming an arthropodic specialist this season, lol.
