No need for overconfidence, though. Gilmer dominated Whitehouse this time last year at Buckeye Stadium.

Granted that QB Patrick Mahomes (now at Texas Tech) and several other WH starters didn't play, but I walked out of the stadium that night thinking the 2013 Buckeyes had the potential to be the best Gilmer team I'd ever seen.

The 2013 team really was among the top four or five Gilmer teams I've seen play since 2000. They just drew a difficult bracket.

And ran into Argyle...it was their time...just perhaps it will be ours again

How did Gilmer look on the offensive and defensive lines? I think that was the only weakness of the 2013 team. Last year they probably had the best skill position group in the state. Both games they lost were against "bigger" physical teams. I don't think y'all will see any teams like Kilgore or Argyle in DII. There will be very few teams IMO that will match up with the Bucks this year offensively.

Defensive line did very well...2 forced fumbles & an interception...lot of pressure on QB with several sacks (D. Boyd put a QB worst nightmare on him with a sack that hurt)passing: 11 of 19, 157 yds, 1 td, 1 int, rushing: 5-9 yds, total: 24 plays, 166 yds, 1 td, 1 to, 1st downs: 4...for our 1st "game", against a 5A team with an "new" D, I will take it, especially with the "shuffling" with the returners & the new blood...We always are up against "bigger" teams & have always managed to compete, never known for our size...if my memory serves me, we ran into a big, physical offense last year in Kilgore...I think we gave them all they wanted+...they sure as heck didn't run us off the field

Sounds like things are all good as usual in Buckeyeland. I didn't say anybody ran Gilmer off the field, I just said "bigger" more physical teams have been the only teams that could give y'all problems in recent years. Looking forward to seeing the Bucks in action in week 5 😜.

Gilmer is Good. Anybody that thinks different is in LaLa Land.
