Possible extensions for both Texas head basketball coach Rick Barnes and baseball coach Augie Garrido are both on the agenda for next week's University of Texas System Board of Regents meeting.

The agenda states that there will be “discussion and appropriate action regarding proposed change in employment terms” for both Barnes and Garrido.

Barnes' current deal runs through the end of the 2017 season and currently pays him approximately $2.4 million annually. The matter of Garrido's extension merely needs board approval as Garrido and men's AD Steve Patterson agreed in July to a two-year extension that runs through the 2017 season.

Barnes is 382-166 in 16 seasons at Texas with a Final Four berth (2003), two Elite Eight appearances (2006, 2008) and two other trips to the Sweet Sixteen (2002, 2004). Last year Barnes was named Big 12 Coach of the Year as Texas went 24-11 and advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament.

In 18 seasons at Texas Garrido has compiled a 763-366-2 record with eight College World Series appearances and two national titles (2002, 2005). The Longhorns went 46-21 in 2014 and finished one game shy of the national championship series in Omaha, falling to Vanderbilt in the national semifinals.
