Do we know how many 4A games will be televised in all this year? The only other one I know of right now is Stephenville and Lubbock Cooper on ESPN.

I'll be sure to set my DVR for both broadcasts.

Whoooo? Gilmerites? We are very selective on who we "like".

I hope Celina can make a game of this, but recent history tells us it'll be over by halftime.

I expect regaleagle to chime in that this year's team may be "down," but no one will believe him.

Argyle will be perennially "up" until they move into 5A in about six years.

Oh okay. I get it. Celina is who you were talking about when you said there would be no need to scout. Thanks

I didn't say it to begin with, but in general I'd say there's not much scouting value in watching in early September a team you would face, if at all, in mid-December.

I sincerely hope Celina can make a game of it. And I know the sponsors of that TV broadcast agree with me.

With the players that Argyle lost, and some experienced players back for Celina, I wouldn't be surprised if this game was a lot closer than last year's matchup. I don't know that we will get to see it in Gilmer, though. We don't get TXA21 here unless it's a Ranger game on Fridays. Will it be played any other channel? I'm having trouble get that website to load here at work.

I thought you meant there would be no need for Gilmer to scout Celina in case they played and it would be over by halftime. But what you meant was Argyle is going to whip Celina by halftime, right?

Now I got it right, Poisoned10 said Won't be necessary to Terry's post. You said you hope Celina could make a game of it. I'm an old guy and stuff runs together in my head.

A matchup in the semis is a better than 40/60 chance I would say. You can bet if the Bucks have any chance to watch any potential opponent they will be.

Like practically all of us in Gilmer, I have a great deal of respect for Argyle. It's not that I don't respect Celina. But Celina hasn't matched up well with Argyle in recent years.

I do see, after looking up Celina's history, that you had their number in 2004 and 2005.

Yep, Argyle will be "down" this year, allright. They'll need to fill some serious holes at a few positions on both offense and defense, not to mention kicker. I guess a bunch of those underclassmen last season will hafta step it up a bit this season for Argyle to seriously contend against some of the playoff teams this year. It just all depends on the team being physical, staying healthy, and not losing key players to injuries. Argyle is not that deep this season like in the past several years, esp. against all these D1 opponents.
