It was total dominance by Team USA as the event was held in Canada at Burnaby, British Columbia. There were 7 teams from 3 continents. The competition started with Round Robin competition with the 2 teams with best records to meet in the championship game. The 7 teams were USA, Australia, United Kingdome (UK), France, Belgium, Mexico and hosting Canada. The USA had won the prior world games.
In their first game the USA beat Canada 130 to 70* in a game not as close as the score. Many people thought the USA would play Canada in the championship game but it was not to be as Canada got beat by Australia in a close 70*-40 game. Canada did get third place.
Next the USA defeated prior event runner up France 250*-20.
Third the USA beat UK 150*-0.
Then the USA beat Mexico 200*-0.
The USA was to play winless Belgium in their 5th game but due to injuries Belgium had to forfeit. No doubt it would have been an easy win for the USA as Belgium had earlier lost to Australia 160*-0.
The USA met Australia in the sixth and last game of the round robin and both teams had already cinched a spot in the championship game even though Australia had to win some very close games. The USA easily won 130*-20 and this set up the championship game. This one sided game was to be proved to not be a fluke.

In the championship game the USA secured Gold in a Shutout Against Australia 210*-0. A shocking result indeed. It would be like winning a baseball game by a 20-0 score. Complete dominance.

Way to go USA!
