It's ON La Marque! We haven't played you since 2000 and can't wait to see you for the 5th time.

This is why I hate polls. But I will deliver some bad news for 4AD2. To a man, this version of the Coogs is taking things seriously, and have their heads screwed on right. I can't say that about the last 2 squads. I'm expecting a hiccup or two along the way in non-district, but come playoff time, these dudes will be nothing nice. No disrespect to the others in Region 3, but it would be a treat to see WOS in BISD's crib on I-10 for the regional crown.

Looks like WOS' biggest obstacle to completing the regular season undefeated is Richmond Foster. Also, pigskin preps expects
Port-Neches Groves and Jasper to give WOS a decent game.

As for La Marque, they are favored over Texas City by seven and then everyone else by twenty three points or more. That includes
Houston Scarborough who the Cougars are picked to beat by seventy four points (if they choose to).

Foster does have 3 times the enrollment of WOS so that should be an interesting game. They're playing in Baytown at Stallworth so I may actually be able to go to that one. WOS notoriously thwarts PNG. Last season was the first time they've beaten us in the last 8 encounters and they play at WOS this year. Jasper is always my biggest fear and has been our biggest rival since we dropped from 5A to 4A in 1986. They are hurting from our playoff win over them last season, PLUS we have to play at Jasper and you can pretty much throw everything out the window when it comes to a rivalry game like that so who knows what will happen. Silsbee and Newton are good programs too; Silsbee always plays us close but have only beaten us three times ever and we're 6-0 against Newton with most if not all of those games being shutout wins.

Foster will be big and very physical. They have only beaten El Campo once but even after a two or three TD win your trainer has a busy following week. This might be the best team Foster has ever had so I'm sure you guys are in for a real battle.

Looking forward to it... We beat Lamar Consolidated every time we played them and the same thing was said about them.

Godley beat Tatum last year in the playoffs. So they IMO should be in the top 25. But we will see how the year plays out.

Preps currently has Godley finishing third in their district behind Dallas Lincoln and Ferris and losing to Monahans by 10 in the second round of the playoffs.

Those 2-8 Lamar Cons. teams weren't quite like 7-3 Foster bringing back 9 offensive and 7 defensive starters. WOS has better big play ability and that should be the difference in a squeaker.

Godley had a good team last year, don't know what they bring back. The reason Tatum will be much improved is the sophomore class moving up and playing with this years seniors. This will be the first time since the 2005 team that Tatum has had the depth to go along with the speed and size. They are my dark horse this year.

We beat Ferris pretty Good and lost to them by five with a sophomore QB who was making his first start last year.Ferris lost tons and that great Kicker. I also read that Lincoln lost their Coach. We are working hard to make some noise in our new district.

That was a fluke. You know that saying.... 9 out of 10 times... Well, there was the one.

No Fluke your team had trouble with 34 degree temps and sideways cats n dogs rain. We are 1-1 with Tatum and your guys are pretty classy. We are very proud to have beaten them after our embarrassing showing the year before.

We got a small but solid group of Sr' s this year with a Solid Jr. Class anchor our team with some good Sophomores to go with our 2 JV teams and our all Freshmen squad. We are excited about this new year .

Yes your team looked real good last year and I expect Tatum to do just fine this year.

I think we will see the same game as 2010 when Tatum plays Gilmer. This Tatum team is much better than the 2010 team. Gilmer will be favored because they have owned Tatum since 2002, but from what I am hearing from other coaches. Tatum could be the real deal this year.

It will be a game to watch for sure. Mother Nature helped us last year against Tatum.

Come on man.. How can you honestly say this Tatum team is better than the 2010 team? ONE day in pads? Winning super bowls in the 5th and 6th grade? What they did as freshman and junior varsity players?

This is a big leap compared to playing the Sabine's of the world.

They have potential yes.

Just keeping it real.

I have not seen them at all, just going by what a few coaches from East Texas that are friends of mine have said. We will see soon enough, but I have a feeling they will be very good.

Go easy on him Eagleborn. His alias on that other forum is JJ, he has just switched teams over here. A bigger homer you will not find, but he occasionally gets it right. :)

HOW IN THE WORLD would you confuse me with JJ. He is the number one ARP fan. I am and have always been a Dawg ex-player and life long fan. Grand father was on the school board at Tatum over 20 years and have lived in Tatum for 40 years. So I claim both schools proudly.

I want to say 2000 was the year we played in Texas Stadium (against Mart) in the game after WOS played Ennis. A lot of the crowd stayed behind from the first two games to watch the 3rd. The announced crowd was more than 13,000 but the crowd was closer to the previous games' numbers for sure.

Wouldn't mind seeing WOS and Celina back on the Cowboy's field on the same day again!

Port Isabel at #16 might be a little too high. They will be VERY young this season.

I will even give you that Tatum is always the real deal...can they put the deal together to slap the Bux down this year...this is why I love Tatum...they are going to give you a game in their off years as well as the on years
