I hate to say it but that is just flat ass ugly. I hope they look better on the field than that picture indicates.

I'm a fan of the design inside the numbers.

If the players and coaches like it then that settles it. Personally I am not afraid of the uniforms but rather what 's in them.

I don't know much about the school but I'd be willing to bet there was a computer model of the entire unirform that met the approval of all concerned parties. Beside, you gotta celebrate a team that gets any new stuff.

I thought the numbers reminded me of a bar code. Scan the player with your smart phone and get his stats!
Times change I guess if the kids like it and it pumps them up then more power to them.

I like them they are what some colleges are doing these days, Texas Tech in particular..... I think they are trendy, the flat blue helmets Ingleside went with a couple of years ago were the trend in college football now the grey looks cool. I'm all for our traditional Blue and White but on the other hand its also fun to mix it up.....the kids love it and its good for football.

Nice! Those uniforms are classic. They look sorta like the uniforms we used to wear back in the 80s or 90s, except with the Nike logo. Nice and clean classic look.

If a kid is honestly worried about his name being on the back of the jersey than his priorities aren't straight. When I was at China Spring we never had our names on the back, but at the end of the season if you were on varsity you could buy your jersey and you had the option to get it put on there. My junior year we played Palestine Westwood at the Case and it was about 37 degrees and pouring down rain. Those who had the jerseys with the name on the back had the option to change into a spare jersey if we had them and that was the only time I wore one with my name on it. Also, we couldn't wear armbands, legbands or visors so putting our name on the back was never going to happen.

I don't have a problem with it though, it's obviously a coaching decision. I just hate when they use HUGE letters that take up the entire back of the jersey.

TRUE STORY

in 2003, when Mark Reeve arrived at Cuero High School (February I think) the previous AD/HC had ordered new jerseys with names on the back - Mark immediately sent the jerseys back and had the names removed and had GOBBLERS put instead! It cost a pretty penny of his budget but that was OK - I knew we had a good coach from then on... I don't think there is anyplace for individual names in high school team sports. Nothing wrong with getting a jersey and having your name on it afterwords or parents wearing one with kid's name on it.. I guess that's old school thinking - :)

I don't have a photo (I'll get one in the next couple of days) but we went with Adidas this year...

Think A&M but green and white.

I'm a traditionalist and if it ain't a school color then it ought not be used, unless the purpose is for highlighting or trim, i.e. using black to border the numbers.

Speaking of traditionalists, does anyone know the difference between a traditionalist and a terrorist?

Answer: You can negotiate with at terrorist........................

I kinda have a different take on the names on the jersey. I dont think a lot of kids are worried about their name as much as earning it. I know the leaping lion used to be only allowed on the helmet of a varsity player. We also had different uniforms (7 stars on shoulder pad area or helmet) that were only brought out after making the playoffs. Thats a little different than just start the season here you go.

I'll agree there. If it's something that's been practiced by the school for years then that's totally different than a group of kids coming up asking their coach if they can get their names on the back.
