His TD pass to Golden Richards in Super Bowl XII was one for the ages!

I got a chance to meet Newhouse along with many of the cowboys of that era at a celebrity fundraiser being held at the old Lone Star Brewing company grounds, when I was about 12 or 13. I had most of their autographs as well, on a piece of paper that now for the life of me, I can't find.

IN one event, Newhouse dove into the pool during a swim relay. His trunks came off, because is freakin thighs were so big, to get over them he couldn't get the waist string tight enough! As I recall, all those Cowboys were real nice to the folks there, signed autographs, and in general were there to have fun and raise some money for charity, including ol' Bob Newhouse.

Back when the College All-Stars played the Super Bowl Champion from the year before, Newhouse scored a touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys. He also played in the Hula Bowl.
