James Clift, a 2014 grad-uate of Sweetwater High School and former SHS athlete, has been named by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association to its Class 3A academic all-state team.
The honor is given to high school seniors who maintained an overall grade-point average of 93 or above for their four years of high school, and who were members in good standing of their team at the time of nomination and of good moral character.
Clift was the only baseball player in Sweet-water’s district (4-3A) to receive THSBCA academic all-state honors.
