I am starting up a division II pick'em for the 7 on 7 state tournament in College Station. I am going to do this just like I did it a year ago. There will be a winner for pool play and then another for championship/consolidation bracket play.

1. For pool play, I just need what two teams you think will advance to the championship bracket. They do not need to be in order.
2. I will post the championship & consolation brackets as soon as they are released that evening.

I have personally seen: Lorena, West, McGregor, Crockett, Rockdale, Robinson & Navasota.

Navasota was very dominant in the Lexington SQT. I have been to the state tournament the past few years now, and I would say they have a good shot at winning it all. Anything can happen in 7 on 7, but they are a good pick at this point.

Also, out of the 3A's I have seen, Crockett has been the best. I was actually impressed with them last year at the state tournament and I believe they will have the best shot to go deep. Maybe someone like a Waskom could surprise.

If Stidham was taking part I think S-Ville would be a good pick to compete, but without him playing I have no idea. I saw Graham play S-ville and they looked pretty strong, but I haven't seen most of the teams play.

Heard he wasn't playing. Any idea why?

I haven't heard anything on the reason why. I'd assume because he doesn't want to risk getting hurt or anything, or who knows, maybe he just wants a break after all the camps and what not. You would think he would go for his team though, doesn't really send the best message. But, like I said, I don't know the reason so there could be a really good one.

That's a pretty dang good reason then haha.

Is that the actual Elite 11 camp? Or is that just another regional one?

Toughest pools to pick

Pool A
I have seen Lorena, and they are capable.

Pool B
I think any 4 could really win it. I'm taking East Bernard to win it and giving Fairfield a slight advantage over Eastland

Pool D
Navarro, Stafford & West battle it out for the last spot. Chapel Hill should cruise here.

Pool H
I like China Spring here, and give Pilot Point the very slight edge over Sonora.

Pool K
Going with Kaufman & Taylor. I would not be surprise to see Kountze & Pecos be the ones to advance though.

Clearest favorites

Pool F
Really like Argyle & Crockett here.

Pool G
Burnet & Kinkaid should cruise.

Pool J
Big Spring & Princeton

Pool L
Gilmer & Boerne

Teams to watch

Robinson & Altair Rice

Has anyone seen the park map layout for the field locations? I know it was posted last year. It appears once you register, you will get a "site map". http://www.texas7on7.com/general-information.html

Boyd is in the secondary right? I don't think "The Opening" is still going on so unless he just hightails it back I doubt he'll be there.

No more than two or three on either side if that. Team will be Juniors, Sophmores and two or three Freshmen. Mostly Sophmores.

Nice run for the baby blues Rabid!!...looking forward to district play...lot's of good teams in our district it appears...I hear Robinson might be dangerous too!...wish I knew more about the other Waco teams....

It is "Cougar" Blue, or as the Uraguanians in FIFA refer to it, "Celestial" Blue.

Robinson has their JFF back this year ( yea.. he wears No.2). He is a Junior QB. Like to talk a lot. They have some talent. I'd say they are teh favorite. I don't like them one bit. They are very good at baseball.

Gatesville, eh I don't like them either. Used to beat us all the time until my oldest son's Sophmore year, 06. Then we beat them like a drum. They have been somewhere else the past two years so I don't know what they have.

LeVega is LeVega. They have more talent than most districts do. They have good kids but their cocching is what holds them back. Its a crap shoot every game. They can be really good or they can stink it up.

China Spring was very Senior laden team last year that was severely hurt by defections and season ending injuiries to skill positions. Lost the stud Soph RB to broken collar bone against Lampasas and was out for the season. He is now the starting RB at Allen. Lost the best Senior Athlete to FTW All-Saints. He signed with UTSA as a WR. Had a very poor Junior class (hence very few Seniorrs this year). Freshman Class wiped out the District even with three of their studs on Varsity. CS had no problem scoring, average something like 38 points but averaged giving up 45 including 79 to Connally. It will be interesting.

We don't have Connally and Lorena anymore. Connally had the best team in the District last year and Lorena lost their Tim Tebow Junior.

But would he fall under these guidelines. I have seen some older ones that were held back (or any other reason) that have:

"are less than 19 years old on September 1 preceding the contest or have been granted eligibility based on a disability that delayed their education by at least one year,"
