My original plan was to publish as updated version of my stadium guide in February of this year but I was busy ;-)

That said I'm working on it right now with publishing target date of August 1st, 2014. So send me your updates. Someone build a new stadium in your area let me know. is you get rid of that grass and install artificial turf, let me know.

How do you let me know? By filling out this form:

Stadium submission / update form (http://www.texasbob.com/stadium/forms/stadium_frm.php)

There is only one requirement for being listed in Texas Football Stadium Guide. The field must be used by the varsity team of any Texas High School or College team for regular season games. This is the same requirement used on the webpage. (http://TexasBob.com/stadium) The size of the facility is not important. Whether the capacity is 25,000 fans or you have to sit on the hood of your pickup to watch the game, as long as this is where the varsity team plays its regular season home games it should be listed in this guide.

Thank you Bob!

Absolutely. This is such a great website, and you know many people throughout Texas use it every season. I have also enjoyed the book! We do appreciate all of the hard work.

Bob, on behalf of sports officials, thank you for your web site and the stadium data base material you provide us. Especially when we travel during playoffs, out of our normal chapter area. Love your site.

Thanks Bob for your website. I use it all the time.

FWIW, Giddings' stadium got new lighting. I am so glad. It used to be something like 14 candlepower per sq foot. Now it's like 42 cp/sq ft. Almost 300% better.

Blaspheme!!!!!!! That stadium had character. Now it will be just like every other stadium. How many 390 yard cinder tracks have you ever seen??? Or to be able to run a 220 yd dash entirely on a straight away? That is what is disappearing from Texas High School football with all the new turf fields and scoreboards, character!

When I played on Yoe Field the burmuda grass was probably 6 inches thick. It could rain 2 inches right before game time and there would not be any mud on your uniform afterwards.

You should have seen the likes of Lago Vista, Salado, and Academy. Luckily, LV is opening up their new stadium this year.

I'm really looking forward to the new baseball facilities. CISD will be building the 1 all-turf baseball field, which will cost 2.25 million. It is supposed to seat 400, which would be a major upgrade over airport park, but is supposed to have lots of great seating down the lines, which is something I have noticed a lot of other places are taking away. The Cameron Economic Development Corporation will also be building 2 other high school eligible fields along with handling all of the infrastructure. With Cameron being so centrally located, this should help boost the economy.

Artificial turf? What will the seating capacity be?

Yes. I believe total capacity is still up in the air. The 2nd part of the football stadium will be the last project, so if there are funds there, they will be used in seating. I have heard around a 20 percent increase should be expected. We will see.
