....:thinking:...well, according to my cal-cumalations, and with some assumptions, here's what I come up with:
Most NFL QB's can throw between 50 & 60 mph...I'll assume this cat is a true stud and can chunk it at 50mph....So,
50mph = 73.33 ft/sec or 22.35 m/sec
I'll also assume he threw it at about a 66 degree angle....
Vx = V cos (theta) = (22.35 m/sec) cos (66 degrees) = (22.35 m/s)(0.406) = 9.074 m/s
Vy = V sin (theta) = (22.35 m/s) sin (66 degrees) = (22.35 m/s) ( 0.913) = 20.40 m/s
Hang time = Ttotal = (0.204Vy) = {0.204 (20.40 m/s)} = 4.16 sec.
Maximum range of his throw @ 66 degree angle:
Xmax = VxTtotal = (9.074 m/s) (4.16 sec) = 37.74 m
1m = 1.09 yd. so,
37.74 m (1.09 yd) = 41 yards
Peak Height time:
0.5 Ttotal = (0.5) (4.16 sec) = 2.08 sec
Peak height:
ymax = Vy (t1/2) - 0.49 (t1/2)* = [{(20.40 m/s) (2.08 sec)} - {0.49 (2.08 sec)*}] = 38.11 m
1m = 3.28 ft, so
ymax = 38.11m x 3.28 = 125 ft. = 41.66 yards

In conclusion: It that kid can throw a football at 50 mph at an angle of approximately 66 degrees and get that football 41.66 yards in the air in 2.08 seconds, he would have to run a 40 (or 41) yard dash in about 4.16 seconds (the calculated hang time) to catch it..........

if this kid really did this the Cowboys need to make him their #1 draft choice when he becomes draft eligible!....My guess is he did it but his throw was shorter than 40 yards...hard to tell depth perception from a video shot at that angle.....but good for him anyways......I've got a tremendous headache now!!:vrycnfsd:
....and if my cal-cumalations are all wrong it ain't my fault, I majored in history!!!..:crazy1:.......plus, I was just doin' this to see if Greendawg would buy it!!!...:D

....this is all Greendawg's fault!....

So according to Cam's cal-cumulations, if the kid actually could throw the ball at 56 mph, instead of 50, there's a better chance he could run under it?

Possibly!...but he would have to run a 4.66 40 yard dash.....and I actually put a stop watch on his video to time his run from the moment he releases the ball to his catch....I kept getting a little over 5 seconds....IDK....waterboy, glad to know some folks are puttin' the pencil to the paper!!...We are self-edumacatin' ourselves on the Downlow!!!....:spitlol:
