Former Glen Rose and North Texas QB Derek Thompson has accepted an invitation to the Broncos Rookie Mini camp! GMG!

Yeah, he had some great numbers in high school. What's his resume since then at the collegiate level? And what's his size now?

6'3" 212 lbs. 2014 Heart of Dallas Bowl MVP. NFL Super Regional Combine Invitee.
Threw for 7,427 yards 41 TDs and 31 Int.

He and Case McCoy played against each other in HS. Think Thompson would have made a better QB @ UT the Lil McCoy? That's a no brainer.

Unfortunately, Derek was not picked up by the Broncos after this weekend.

Unfortunate, but not unusual. Most teams don't carry more than two qb's anymore and they already have Peyton obviously and then Brock "The Cannon" Osweiler. If he would've signed though they would've had three tall qb's. the heights would have been Manning at 6'5, Osweiler at 6'7 and Thompson at 6'3 (Was that his combine height?).
