I lost my mom to cancer in January 1975 while I was a senior in High School. Her favorite song was "His Eye is on The Sparrow" and I play it every time I am thinking of her. On Mother's Day I always listen to that song and remember just how special she was. My mother-in-law has been a second mom to me for 34 years and we just put her in Hospice care at our home. This year will be a tough Mother's Day, but, I have been truly blessed to have two wonderful women in my life I called mom.

Yes, my wife and I take flowers to our mothers' graves on Mother's Day every year. My mother died in 1995, and her mother died in 2005. It's only about 4 to 5 miles to my mother's grave, and about 80 to my wife's mother's grave.

Cancer took my momma 30 years ago. She was only 54. Hard to believe it's been that long. Think about her every day and I know she's always with me! She was a funny lady!
