This should be a real test for LG, do not see many teams in Region 4 any better them Columbus. Columbus pitcher has the goods to slow down LG's HR hitters, this game may boil down to some coaching.

i give the nod to c-town then :smoker:

in all seriousness, it is good to see two teams from the area still playing ball. I hear LG is going to be stacked for the next several years as well. A fun time to be a Lep

Yes LG has some talent in the pipeline, it is bout time our coach brings home a SC with the talent he has had for a number of years. Making it to State does not cut it, it's all about winning that last game.

Game Insight:

Am fairly familiar with both programs and this may be the best series in all of the 3A softball playoffs.

Columbus has a fantastic pitcher 68+ fastball and all the other pitches to keep batters off balance. They have better than average defense and are not prone to mental letdowns. The only area I think they are weak is in the batting order, there better hitters are tops in 3A but they are not strong top to bottom.

LaGrange has excellent pitching, fantastic defense, very strong hitting top to bottom and a deep bench in all areas.

If the Columbus pitcher is on I give the advantage to them but if LaGrange can work the count and get some runners on the advantage flips. See this as a very close game and hope I am able to get to the games tonight. This should be a Regional Championship game with the quality of these two teams. Good luck to both but am cheering for the Cardinals to continue.

Columbus defense let them down big time last night, also Columbus pitcher has decent velocity however I would question it being 68 mph. I know she is young however for her to be success against good hitting teams she will need to find a second pitch, she had nothing but a FB and if you continue to just throw one pitch with no off speed that might work against weak hitting teams but not against good hitting teams. Only the second time I have seen LG play this year, I have to admit I was very impressed with our catcher and she is just a freshman. She does things behind the plate that takes most catchers years to figure out, our young pitcher throws well however just do not know if it will be good enough to beat a solid hitting team. I hope so, time will tell.
