Went 17' 6" at Mexia on Thursday. No.1 High Schooler in the Nation. He is only a Junior.

Broke the national record for 16 year olds which was set in 2005 at 17' 2 1/4". The overall high school record is 18' 3 1/4".

His dad/coach was an All American in Track and Field at Florida State. Member of FS Sports Hall of Fame. Riley Richards, a Freshman pole vaulter at CS, is the Grandson of Bob Richards. The first athlete to apprear on the Wheaties Box in 1958. Riley's dad was also an elite pole vaulter.

There are some good genetics going here.
