Comments: Hardin-Jefferson is 14-1 after beating Silsbee 7-3 while Orangefield beat Bridge City 8-6 and Silsbee beat West Orange Stark. Devine won their lone game of the week vs. Incarnate Word out of San Antonio. Andrews placed third at the Snyder tournament losing to Pampa 8-7 in semifinals. Kennedale won the Black and blue tournament and is playing exceedingly well. Sweeny was 6-1 in San Marcos losing only to Burkburnett 5-0 in the gold semifinals then beating Weimar 5-2. Casey Kauder no hit Taylor 10-0 as Caldwell improved to 14-1. Ebonee Marquez is hitting .536 for Devine who is led by Casey Montalvo who is 14-3 after pitching a perfect game win over Hondo. Huntington is 18-1 including a 5-0 district win over Hudson.

TEN SOFTBALL HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK (no specific order, just highlights)

1. Natalia (16-0) in 29-2A has out-scored their opponents 191-9 on the season.

2. Kayla Ober of Katy Cinco Ranch is hitting .562 and is 13-1 on the mound.

3. Class 3A LaGrange has won 22 straight games since opening the season with a 6-2 loss to 5A power Pearland at the Brenham tournament

4. Mariah Denson of Mansfield Timberview fanned 20 in throwing a perfect game win

5. Bastrop Cedar Creek is having their best season in school history at 15-4 and pitcher Kirsten Pruett struck out 22 batters in an extra inning win last week.

6. Pearland’s Rylie Spell had four this and four RBIs as the Oilers beat Alvin.

7. Austin Stephen F. Austin is on their best start since the UIL sanctioned softball in 1992 as the Maroons lost their first three games and have now won 17 straight games.

8. West’s Maddison Camille Kettler is this week's South Central Region NFCA/Max Preps Player of the Week. Kettler (aka Crash) has committed to Baylor.

9. Pilot Point’s Preslee Galloway pitched a no hitter against Sunnyvale then two hit Leonard. Pilot Point has not been scored upon in district play and Galloway has allowed only seven hits in four district wins.

10. Morgan McCallum of Mesquite Horn is leading the Dallas Metroplex in hitting in 5A with a .611 batting average.

Weimar has not lost to another 1a opponent, just beat Gonzales and Somerville then opened district with a 5-4 win over shiner who beat Flatonia 6-3 then posted a 3-3 record at the Rattler Invitational losing to Cedar Ridge, San Antonio Southwest and Sweeny.

Mildred is 11-2 with both losses to 4A Waxahachie Woodville swamped both Corrigan 10-0 and Warren 16-0 as pitcher Shelby Mixon improves to 10-1 the season. Santa Gertrudis Academy beat bishop 11-2 to improve to 2-0 in district. Troy beat Valley mills and Moody and as they have only lost to 5a San Angelo Central and Bruceville Eddy. The Natalia Lady Mustangs won their district opener over Jourdanton 16-0 then whipped Randolph 17-0. Paris Chisum defeated 3A Texarkana Liberty Eylau 7-5 to win the Canton tournament. Franklin posted a 4-1 record at the Madison Vielle tournament losing only to Lorena abut beating Fairfield 13-6 and Coldspring 10-0, Ponder beat Brock 5-4 and Paradise 14-4 but Brock then beat Peaster 12-2 Bruceville Eddy beat Hamilton 15-0. Danbury beat Hitchcock 20-1 in three innings then edged Boling 4-3. Brock blanked both Alvord 12-0 and Millsap 15-0. Caddo mills beat Gunter 16-1. Gladewater Sabine improved to 4-0 in district by beating Hawks 17-0 and Winona 17-1. Troy beat Clifton then lost to Crawford. Clifton rebounded to beat Bruceville-Eddy.

Comments: Nederland beat Little Cypress Mauriceville 2-1 in 13 innings in front of a huge crowd, in other games from Southeast Texas then pounded Port Neches Groves 9-1. LCM beat Port Neches-Groves 4-1. Centennial blasted prosper 14-6. Dripping Springs blanked Rouse 3-0. Frisco Centennial pounded Prosper 14-6 while Poteet improve to 3-0 in district by beating Highland Park 9-1. Over at the College Station Tournament, Azle beat Garrison 4-0 and Aledo 6-3 but Azle lost to 3A monster LaGrange 2-1 and to LCM 11-10. Canyon posted a 5-0 mark at the West Texas tournament .

Comments: The Woodlands is 20-2 after winning three tournaments crowns Southwest crushed Smithson Valley 12-2 while San Antonio Lady Bird Jonson beat Judson. Austin High beat lake Travis, Bowie and Akins to increase their win streak to 17 straight . Houston MacArthur won the Aldine tournament with a 5-0 mark to increase their winnign steak to ten straight. Lewisville improved to 14-5 while district rival Flower Mound is 13-5 after woinning the Sienna Tournament. Marcus is 16-4 but has lost twice recently, once to Lubbock Coronado 9-1 then to Ennis 5-3. Lubbock Coronado defeated Abilene High 11-0 and Midland High 4-1 to improved their overall record to 13-2 and 3-0 in district. Mansfield beat South Grand Prairie Friday 11-1 in 5 innings to remain undefeated in District. Mansfield is 14-2 after winning the Midland West Texas Challenge tournament 6-0 won tournament scoring 68 allowing 16. Coinco Ranch is on fire, beating katy Taylor 13-2 as Kayla Obert pitched the win and Kalri Hamilton hit her six homerun fo the season. Cinco Ranch beat Seven lakes 6-3 with another Ober win and a tater by Brittany Nollkamper. In a tight contest, Cinco Ranch edged Katy 5-4 as it was Uber Ober as Kayla pitched the win and hit a solo homerun in the foruth and a two run shot in the sixth inning to give her five on the season. In the win, Cinco Ranch rallied form a 3-0 deficit after three innings.

Anybody heard anything about the Celina girls ? They've been tough the last 5-6 years but haven't heard A word this year. I live here and havent seen scores in the paper or even on the Internet .

Anybody heard anything about the Celina girls ? They've been tough the last 5-6 years but haven't heard A word this year. I live here and havent seen scores in the paper or even on the Internet .

Mineral Wells Lady Rams now 18-4...Kennedale will have some competition in district....
