Notes: The Rangers start district play today against a team in Sweetwater that could contend for a district title and won the West Texas March Classic two weeks ago. Greenwood has had an up-and-down non-district slate that included Friday’s wild 12-11 victory against Seminole. The Indians came back from a 10-3 deficit to score eight runs in an inning, while Greenwood came back to win it in eight innings. “They’ve fought, and there’s a lot of fight in us,” Greenwood coach Stephen Rodriguez said. “We are excited and the guys are hungry, they want to win and get in the playoffs.” ... Rodriguez said that juniors Javier Vizcaino, Victor Urias or Ismael Madrid could all start today’s game. ... Sweetwater has won 10 straight games, including last Thursday’s victory against Lubbock Estacado.
