LOL 2 HISD schools in the top 5 of RIII... so will LaGrange face WOS or LaMarque first? LaMarque will be on the opposite side of the bracket from WOS barring huge upsets and no way D12 is below HISD unless I'm missing something. But then again there are only 20 teams in RIII, less if Houston Jones does end up closing.

As much as I hate to say it, Port Isabel should not be at the top, or anywhere near the top this coming season. They graduated the house. They do have some returning starters, but for the most part, they will be very young next season. I would put Sinton at the top, and move PI down between Wimberley & Jourdanton. Also, Raymondville isn't expected to do a whole lot next season either. Look for Rio Hondo to make some noise.

I'm glad someone else got a chuckle from that!

These rankings are more based on the previous season than the outlook for the new season.

I was wondering what Red was thinking here. Yeah, your right SHS, was just based on last year's results. Sweetness need's to change the thread name. Kinda confusing, and we thought it was his 2014 pre-season poll for real.

Concur, PI will be down, according to their standards, anyway. What they have, 35 seniors this past year? Amazing for a 3A school.

Yawl got the better of us in basketball last week. Round two on the gridiron would be nice.

By the way, HISD is going to be doing fine until those buses from Navasota ISD and LMISD pull up to the curb.

I would have both Wharton and Sweeny ahead of Bellville in the early polls.

Been doing a little thinking and some researching too and Wimberley has a chance to surprise if a good handful of 3 year seniors will become leaders instead of individual players. They could put 22 good players on the field if everything could work out right.

I sure hope our roster numbers increase...somewhere in the 40s would be nice.

I didnt say that correct tejas, lol I should have said, they could put 11 good players on the field if everything could work out right. Some two way players for sure. In 2011 we had 2 true two way guys and about 2 or 3 that went 1 1/2 ways and that was special. Also have you seen the non district schedule anywhere?

I think 4A DII will be a dog fight, but there will be a team from the East that will be very very good this year. The Tatum Eagles will be loaded with speed and size. It all comes down to if they can play as a team. No one will have better athletes. The game to keep an eye on will be the third game of the season. Tatum versus Gilmer.

Lol. Third year varsity players.... That is a good non district schedule. No 10 - 0 this year. Iowa Park is 5 1/2 hrs away, so if that is true I would assume a half way site. Doesn't make much since to play them although some of the original coaches that came with Nelms used to coach there.
