Girls Basketball Rankings

It appears this year's girls basketball playoff is a horse race...you never know who might win. At the TABC website, the rankings are posted for the end of the regular season and a statement is added at the top which reads: " Let the playoffs determine how close we are ". Well, here's a breakdown:

1. Of the 25 ranked teams only 11 are left to play region
2. One team was eliminated in the 1st round
3. Six teams were eliminated in the 2nd round.
4. Seven teams were eliminated in the 3rd round
5. Five teams are in the regional playoffs which are unranked (my favorite Kennedale is one of them)
6. This should be an exciting race to the finish. I only wish I could go to Lubbock but that's too far from the MetroMess.

My money is on the winner of region 2, #2 Argyle vs #4 Celina. Argyle won both district meetings.

It appears Shallowater had too many horses on the bench for Kennedale to keep up with......72-54. I 'll go with Shallowater for Region 1 champ and advance to Austin. I know why they call the college playoffs March Madness....anything can happen.
I know this loss was especially bitter for the Seniors. I hope the LadyKats can reload and come back next year.
