Robert Blackmon was selected by a committee to be named Van Vleck's new football coach and AD. It will become official at the next school board meeting.
Blackmon, a VV graduate, coached at Bay City for a few years and the resigned from that post a few years ago.
Blackmon played college ball at Baylor and played for the Indianapolis Colt, and Seattle Seahawks, drafted in the second round in 1990

He was a disaster at Bay City.

Was he, or the talent? Cause they still stink. Burk's had to start all over trying to build it back up.

BC hasn't had enough talent for several years. VV will be a 3A D2 school next year.

That's what I thought too. Weebe kinda made it sound like it was RB's fault. He had nothing to work with.

There's plenty of talent there. It's a question of getting them to play and controlling them once they are on the team.

this should be no surprise to anyone... it is what the community (some board members anyway) has wanted for a long time...

there are not the normal athletes that used to be on the field at Bay City... are they walking the hallways? probably... just when watching what Bay City puts on the field is not near what they used to have... either they moved away, or for some reason not coming out to play... so Weebe is right to an extent

I will tell you this, BC has athletes still. Maybe not what they had in the late 90s or early 2000's but given just the talent on the basketball team, there are still good looking kids who run really fast there.
