Nope, Navasota was not the district champs, but runner up. The Rattler girls were a little down this year with a lot of youth.

Well give Tommy "Pearly" Gates some time and he'll get this group going deep into the playoffs.

Yes sir Nasty. Pearly had a team this year that would look like champions in some games and JV in others. They were very inconsistent, especially in rebounding. As you know, Gates has always found a way to win and this year was no different. If this group holds together next year, the following should be a super year. Several sophomores had really good first varsity year performances this year.

Lady Gobblers' Area round basketball playoff game has been set.
Cuero will play LaVernia this Friday night in Gonzales at 6:15pm.
Lady Gobblers will be the visitors.
