I definitely agree with College Station.

I disagree with Robinson being higher than West and no China Spring. China Spring has better returning pitching than Robinson. Usual suspects in District 17 though; West, China Spring, Lorena and Robinson.

China Spring will see Caldwell at Rogers Tournement.

College Station is really good. With that said, they are playing one heck of a schedule. If they can make it to district in one piece they can make a great run. Will be very interesting that Caldwell, ranked #3 is in the same district with CS. That should be some great matchups. The kolach eaters have a guy on the hill that supposedly really chunk it, so those should be two games to go see.

It's been a while since Columbia has beaten Sweeny.

That being said, Necks will win 24-3A this year.....:stirpot:

Can't wait until the season starts.

Not much love for the Defending State Champs Leps but somehow PG is at the top year in and year out, I thought the old saying of your No.1 till someone kocks you off but I guess that is just for some teams. If the Leps can find one more pitcher to step up , then the playoffs will knock most of the pretenders down to earth. Good time of the year.

Hook, im surprised at the low ranking of the Leps as well. I do know that they acquired a really good coach in coach McCollum. He will have them ready to play and the opponents better not blink or they will miss something. Maybe if the old Bon Ton on the East side were still open the ranking would be higher.

Well, the thing is that I asked permission from Tim Baugh to post this subscription material as
they're trying to sell 5,000 copies of their magazine and this hasn't even been posted on his
website yet. I'll PM you whatever you want to know though.

Also, for those wondering, the number 20 team in the state is the Kennedale Wildcats.

Not sure what all exactly CS has coming back but I know 3B Robert Martinez tore his ACL in football and I know he's one of the better players.

Always good games against you guys, Coach Cerny always gets the best out of his players. Hopefully Supak will see some action against you guys, I know he will be ready from throwing in the fall and continuing his workout since. It will be some exciting games to see when he is on the bump, the stands should be full of pro scouts just like the Homer days. Just need to find that next pitcher to step up and be a solid No.2 , looking forward to the season.

how hard is he throwing this year?

Sinton has a good group returning from last season and noticed some skip basketball to be there from the start for baseball. Looking forward to Sinton having another run at the state tourney, this group has a good shot this season. Also look forward to some great games against Robstown, Sinton has won the district title 13 out of the last 14 years with Robstown winning it back in 2010 to end Sinton 10 straight district titles. Last season they shared the title with Robstown.

I do not know for sure, I know he ended in the fall at 90 or better. His breaking ball is considered a plus pitch with the scouts, if he adds 3 to 4 mph by summer he could land anywhere from 3rd to 6th round. Good chance he might have a major decision to make in June, he has been working hard since last season. He has a very live arm and the frame that scouts love, fully healthy for the season.

where were they last year?? they freshman?

one was there and was not due to injury. the one that was there is a jr this year had to catch every game last year Zack Ward. the other one didn't play i think because of injury so could be mistaken about his speed but he wont be very far off that pace. the Ward kid is a real good kid and works real hard i have coached & watched him since his famliy moved here several years back, he also has a really good stick. I think he can be a real surprise for us this year.

Supak is a great pitcher. Having to start pitching in dist and getting better every outing was really impressive. Lagrange will really miss Hook's son who was great all yr and held the team together untill Supak got up to speed. Then both pitchers got better each game in close dist games. Then in playoffs the bats got hot and the rest was history. I had a grandson that played for Cuero and i saw 2 great games with Lagrange which the Leps won. Then I saw them in 2 playoffs games and when those bats woke up it was all over.
I shocked they are not rated higher cus they got some good ones coming back and they allways have guys coming up that step up and fill any holes they lost. It's a baseball factory.

I think the La Vernia game was the turning point of our season, being down big and coming back to win it in the 8th was really special. The Needville series was a dog fight and we had a pitcher step up that did not play his sophomore and junior years , in baseball you just never know. When we got to Austin the team was full of confidence and would not be denied, damn that was fun. My son said it best, It's a dream come true.
