I thought this line was interesting:

"Brown's last years were focused on talking about things with no follow up. He was also absent from the team constantly and had little read on the mood or culture of the locker room."

According to my nephew during his playing days at UT from 2004 to 2008, he told me Mack was hardly there..even at practice he was always surrounded by sponsors or someone else...too busy doing other stuff other than being a head coach. Go figure....

Sounds like a good NCAA D-2 coaching to me.

I think it sounds great. The players who are committed to the program will excel and the program will be better off for this!

Apparently the players are not allowed to throw the hook em up until they earn it...also instead of track suits for gameday it will be blazer, slacks, button up, and tie.

The hook 'em rule is not bright.

Is this a rule, or are you being sarcastic?

"Hook'ems" are Satanic... should never be allowed. Of course, you don't want to know what "Gig'ems" represent in arabic countries.

The suit and tie thing is actually more the norm in college football. To travel in sweats is an "earned privilage", most often on return flights.

Well, If Chip Brown said it, it must be true.

7. There's no time for a rebuild. "I don't have time for that." The expectation is that Texas wins now.

Good luck with no QB.

Recruit: "Do I have to sit on the front row of every class and be checked on like a 5 year old?"
Art Briles: "Of course not, AND we are going to win the Big 12... again."

Good, if you don't want to work or want discipline go else where. They country club atmosphere at Texas is what led to these crap results.

Agreed, the codling of players needs to stop.

i think Strong is taking the wrong approach by preaching "Win Now." That is what got Mack fired. They will win less games next year than they did this year. To win the Big 12 you have to have good QB play. Theirs will be worse than Case McCoy... that's not good.

If Ash is past his concussion issues they'll be just fine. The question is what do they really have after that?
