When we were young we all had our sports heroes/heroines---who were yours?
Now that you are an adult, have your choices changed---i.e., have some sports figures dropped off your youth list and others taken their places, or have you just added some to your youth list as an adult?

This could be a generational thing but I don't really admire any athlete that I grew up with. I started following sports about 1996-1997 when I was 9-10 years old.

Emmitt would probably be my #1. Total respect for that man. I'd vote for him to be Prez.

Willy, Lilly. George and Jethro.
Charly Waters - Played 12 years, never experienced a losing season, missed the playoffs only once, holds the playoff record for most interceptions (9) with 3 in one game, blocked 4 punts in two consecutive games, played in 5 Super Bowls.
Cliff Harris - "Captain Crash"

I loved me som Griffer Jr. I fell bad for him bc without injuries he could have been the greatest ever. He is the greatest Cf of all time IMO. and he did it clean too. The kid was fun to watch to say the least.

Growing up, Troy Aikman and Rusty Greer as a kid.

Now that I guess people consider me grown up the players I like are the ones who make themselves stand out, know they're good and aren't afraid to let everyone know. Probably something a lot of old school people dislike.

Cam Newton
Lebron James
Phillip Rivers

Guys with chips on their shoulders with something to prove get me fired up.

Randy White - that dude had a motor!
Roger Staubach - loved to watch him scramble even with that horrible two bar facemask helmet of his....
Jimmy Wynn - Astros outfielder was my baseball hero...
Shane Churla - Dallas Stars enforcer...that dude was looney!
Wahoo McDaniel - crazy Indian....
Tiny Tim - cause that sumbitch could tiptoe through the tulips with such grace!!!.....

Easy- the REAL Dallas Cowboys. I can name nearly all of them off of each of the Super Bowl teams from the 70's. I cann't name maybe two or three off last year's team or those of the last 10 years.

There is a reason he was called "The Kid". I played against Bo Jackson and Frank Thomas was freshman on that Auburn team.

I had only one sports figure on my wall growing up and that was Walt Garrison. I met Bob Lilly once and he was about as friendly as anyone I have ever met. I also met Roy Rodgers when he was filming a movie with Clay Obrien in my home town. Clay Obrien was a little Pr*** but Roy Rogers was awesome. My biggest crush as a boy was Valerie Bertinelli and maybe Farah Fawcett. Everyone remember the fuzzy Farah posters?
