But, even if there weren't, according to the article he was told specifically not to do that, and he admits to doing it anyway out of pure defiance. When your boss tells you not to do something, you don't say "F you" and do it anyway.

Oh yeah, in one form or another, that is usually why people get fired. My guess this isn't they only thing the coach did or didn't do that that chapped his boss's a**. It just makes a better headline to say running up the score was the reason. It was probably the last of several reasons.

Yeah, he also had a party at his house where several of his players were caught drinking.
