has agreed to a 7 year deal with the rangers. Now we got a lead off hitter! but that means no more Nelson Cruz...... Right?

Yes, we have seen the last of Nelson Cruz in a Rangers uniform.

Seven year 130 mil contract for a 31 year old leadoff hitter with average fielding abilities, is a poor base stealer, and can't hit L/H pitching. That's just nuts.

One thing is that Texas will not be asking him to play CF. Hes more than adequate for RF.

While his splits against LH is not good, I'm not sure about the rest of your scouting report.

Going with the last 2 years: 41 stolen bases, 18 caught stealing. Not good. You can throw in the 150, 133 strike outs. Can't argue his OBP though but since many of you focus on age as a grading scale..he'll be 32 in July. 7 years?? It appears the Rangers are showing signs of Yankee fever. lol

I'm not crazy about the years but in a world where Scott Feldman got 3 for $30 million, this contract is on par now.
They actually got him for less than the Yankees offered.
