Haven't been there in forever but Gaido's used to be THE place to go in Galveston for seafood. It may have changed. My family has been going there every trip to Galveston since I was a young child.

Gaido's is still great and worth the high prices=-I take my wife there once a year- We drive the back way on Hwy 6 through Hitchcock and then get on I 45 and drive over the bridge

Clary's. Not cheap and not fast but I've eaten there twice over the years and it was fantastic. Best soft shelled crab I've ever had, bar none, great shimp and even the oysters were good (and I don't like oysters!). If you have a bottle of wine, appetizers and entrees--expect to spend $40-50 per person. If just want some fast and fried seafood go somewhere else...

Yes, yes, yes! What memories...what food...what atmosphere. It is probably a dump now, run by some nut case and the serve Campbell's Gumbo...I loved the place during the 50's thru 80's

If you want a burger, "The Spot" is pretty good.

Fisherman's Wharf. You are on the ship channel, can see the Elissa historical wooden ship, next to the old downtown Strand District....etc...etc.

The Gumbo Bar. Low prices, great seafood gumbo and Po Boys and over 60 different brands of beer.

Willie G's is very good, but extremely expensive! Of course, I usually eat a good ribeye...
