The lead would stay intact until the fourth quarter after a “questionable” safety for Fairfield defense giving the ball back to Fairfield

Looks like I was not the only one to question the safety.
It was a safety he was hit outside the goal line but the ball was knocked loose on the hit and qb bobbled the ball while falling into the end zone before regaining posession once on the ground in the end zone

Fairfield - great season, but that color scheme is tough on uniforms to make look good.

In the earlier game, the Kilgore play-by-play man seemed to insinuate that any controversial call was NOT going to be replayed on the giant videoboard in order to spare officials any embarrassment.

This was early in that game before it got out of hand. I don't recall the exact play. And then they DIDN'T replay it, after he predicted they wouldn't. Thus, a conspiracy theory was born.
That is true. They didn't replay controversial calls. They replayed this one on the video board and it clearly showed he fumbled the ball right when he was hit and then recovered in the end zone. Were you even there? Sounds like you are just making up stories now.

Nobody has brought this up but if Fairfield kicks the field goal on the first stopped drive at the Argyle 5 then all they need at the end of the game is another short field goal to win. Second guessing is easy but Argyle's special teams have been the best in the state for years. Maybe this was Fairfield fearing the Argyle offense and thought they needed 7 to have a chance. Great game and two great teams. Someone tell Saggy that it only takes one win to get the ring.

I just wanna say CONGRATULATIONS to ARGYLE for finally joining the SC club! That first one is always the hardest to win, and this game proved it! Good job in getting it done. I feel for the Fairfield folks! Been there, done that, and it's tough for sure. Congratulations on a GREAT season, and you proved you belonged there.

Emerson1, I am reporting what the Kilgore broadcaster named "Doug" said. Obviously I wasn't there or wouldn't have been listening to him online.

Congrats to both teams. This game was as advertized. Thank you for the quality entertainment. Loved the entire weekend our schools put on for us.

And, wasn't that Allen Band amazing? Took up the entire field.

Yeah, he was wrong.

Great game! Easily my favorite of the weekend. I wanted Fairfield to win so bad. Lots of different things you could look at and wonder what if....they had some costly errors in the 1st quarter, but then seemed to settle down and just play football. Then again hit a bit of a lull in the 3rd quarter and then woke up again. Hats off to Argyle & Mr. Sadler...they just kept coming at them! It was a GREAT game & I can't wait to watch it again on DVR :)

Am I the only one who thought the officiating wasn't very good?

Missed calls went both ways. Don't start crying now.

Exactly my point. Several calls were missed and you would think the officials would be better for the state game.
