That was March. I've been to school board meetings since then. The area rep has been mysteriously predisposed to miss those meetings and the board has been evasive with the community. They want to turn that building into a charter/specialty school like they've done several elementary schools on the south side of Houston. I'd walk down Cullen in my drawlz if Jones and Sterling were not merged. They're pouring concrete now for the new Sterling. Oh, and don't be surpirsed to see Worthing and Yates do likewise in the future. They've already cut funding to Yates to where there was a community rally/fundraiser just so they've have a band this year. Carnegie, Rhoads, and several other schools on the south side are no more. Carnegie was razed waiting on the highest bidder for the land, and other dominoes will be falling soon. HISD relied heavily on those areas and their clergy to help pass that last bond election then said thank you and moved on.

I'm not saying it won't happen but if it was gonna happen next school year several things would have already happened namely HISD at least for next year is planning on both schools being open because they turned in numbers for both schools. If they planned on merging the schools seperate numbers would not have been turned in.

That's a valid point. I just don't trust anything HISD says or does. That's from experience and from a person who is a higher up who works at the HISD administration building.
