Aw hell never mind the distance. Put LM back with WOS. I don't wanna be in a district with any ninnie's from Houston ISD.

*****
I forgot, Jones will be consolidating with Houston Sterling. Where did the KIPP schools end up? I think they were each near 530.

"District 7 - Gilmer, Texarkana Pleasant Grove, Atlanta, Gladewater, Longview Spring Hill"

I agree with this and it makes a helluva lot more sense than putting Center in the same district with Texarkana Pleasant Grove, as I saw earlier.

I was informed Sunnyside was not going to participate in football in 2014.

Seminole is a division 1 school not sure about Lubbock . Ten teams out here in the west are Clint, Ft Stockton, Pecos, Monahans, Midland Greenwood then you have Lamesa, Sweetwater Bushland, Dalhart and Perryton.

Our district most likely will be an old traditional district with La Grange, Giddings, Smithville, Columbus, Bellville and Caldwell in R3.

Then I'm going to have to figure something out for District 1 with only 4 teams currently.

You may have to just keep it at four unless there's a school that's missing. Probably the same with others out west. Just too much distance.

I can't imagine Krum going to Sweetwater with Aubrey and Celina just on the other side of Denton. I think Krum goes into that district to make it six.

I was trying to get at least 5 in each district.

If that were the case Sweeny and Brookshire would probably flip. But it would mean even more travel for Cuero and Yoakum.

I think there is a good chance IP and Vernon go up with the three panhandle schools and form their own district. Very good chance.

And Bridgeport, Krum, Aubrey, Celina, and maybe Anna go into a district.

Put me down for a vote for the "East" district for the Bulls, Slpy---nothing against Sweetwater, but that would be quite a ride for a game if some of the other projections come true.

Gotta account for Melissa too. That makes six, but if there are four-team districts out west that won't upset the five-per-district average.

Bonham and Nevada Community will probably be sent east.

I think east of 75 will go East (Reg 2) and West of 75 will go west (Reg 1).
My best guess is
Celina
Aubrey
Bridgeport
Krum
Iowa Park
Vernon

But it would not surprise me to have but still go REG 1
Celina
Melissa
Anna
Bonham
Aubrey

I don't think the UIL really cares about distances when they are districting.

I second that. I hope, but already know we are gonna get stuck going out west. That sux for travel. I wish they would let us go North or East instead of West.

These would be the distances of our furthest most district opponents depending on which direction we are sent.

North
Sweetwater to Dalhart - 319 miles or 4 hours 51 Minutes
Sweetwater to Perryton - 300 miles or 4 hours 54 minutes

West
Sweetwater to Clint - 391 miles or 5 hours 27 minutes
Sweetwater to Fort Stockton - 213 miles or 3 hours and 10 minutes

Question... The UIL is only dividing up 4A into two divisions for football and combining everyone for all other sports. Does that mean District 1 D1 and D2 will combine, District 2 D1 and D2 will combine for Baseball, Basketball, etc. or will there be a completely different set of districts for the other sports?

Twirling Time
12-04-2013, 01:30 AM
No, there will be 32 districts in basketball and other sports, so those districts will be drawn up independent of football.
