This will be a good game. Decatur has a dang good spread attack with a very good QB. Sounds like their defense has gotten it together. Could be a shootout.

Are they doing a double header there with Kilgore first?

It will be tough for Decatur to win this one. Decatur has an explosive pass game. They're going to have to use it a lot if they want to upset CH. I think Decatur has two 1,000yd receivers. I say they're going to have to use it because what I've seen of Decaturs defense is going to make them have to catch up.

I'm thinking the Eagles will be alright in this match up..

Looks like the weather is going to be on our side. CH looks to have a very good dual threat QB but decatur has a great passing game and an average running game. It's all up to the defense to slow down CH. lets bring home another trophy Eagles

I picked this match up in my bracket. I got Chapel Hill advancing. Prove me wrong Decatur! I saw flashes of greatness vs Alvarado. Keep executing consistently and success will happen.

Some info on our district mate, Chapel Hill :

They're very good. They do have 4 losses this season, but the 4 teams that beat them have a combined record of 45-2. They lost to 4A #3 ranked Whitehouse by a TD. Athlete-wise, they can match up to just about anyone.

Offensively, they're pretty balanced. They were averaging 350 yds/game rushing when we played them in week 8. Their running game consists primarily of jet sweeps to a big, fast RB (Wesley Thompson) and zone-read keepers by the QB, Andrew Black (6'2" - 190). Black also has a big arm and they average around 27 pass attempts/game. Primary receiving threat is Gabriel Robinson. He's not big, but he's a solid receiver.

Defensively, they're good but not great. Big, tall defensive line (4-3) led by a D-1 recruit, Keith Minor. They lost their best defensive player (Joseph Clark, Texas Tech commit) several weeks ago to a torn ACL. Lots of athletes on defense, but they will give up some pts.

As far as Forney's stadium, it is a wind tunnel. We've played 4 or 5 games there in the last couple of years and I only remember one game where the wind wasn't blowing 25 mph.

The run defense was the chinch in Decatur's armor when we played them, if the can stop the run, I think this will be a close game. CH is always loaded with athletes which makes them dangerous on both sides of the ball.

Decatur by 7

Two quality qb's in this matchup.....both can throw and both can run. A look at the stats shows fairly even numbers by comparison. CH did play the tougher schedule, but at this time of the season, that's a moot point. It's matchup time....one game to garner all the skills you can muster to play the next week....or go home. Mistakes are part of football and will happen almost every game. The extent of the mistake(s) at the time they are made sometimes becomes one of the determining factors in whether a team will win or lose at this level of competition. That means that the team that plays the cleanest football with the least mistakes made will give their team the best chance for a win. Turnovers, penalties, and mental errors in execution are all examples of mistakes. Whichever team can play the "cleanest" will probably win this game.

Chapel Hill wins this! After the win over alvarado in the state championship a couple of years ago I can tell they are well coached! Alot of athletes and very balanced

Let's go Chapel Hill! Keep the DoD streak going and make it an all 16-3A Regional Finals.

I have Chapel Hill advancing in the bracket facing Kilgore in the Region 2 finals. Decatur has the team to give CH the challenge. They have a very good QB Grayson Muehlstein. The 6'4" TCU committ has a canon and can run. Good athlete. It will come down to which team is more disciplined and executes. If CH can execute consistently and plays disciplined, they should advance.

Good chance there will be only 2 teams from District 16 advance past this week.

Hard to predict this one. Decatur's passing game is very good, and they run well when needed, but I wonder if they have the defense to stand up to an athlete laden team like CH for 4 quarters. I think if this game gets into a shootout---Decatur advances---if it gets into slug-it-out, I think CH wins.

I think this will be a great game. Honestly don't know enough about Decatur to make a prediction. I do know that CH's QB Black has been on fire here lately both with arm and on the ground.

Sounds like defense will win the matchup.

Lets get it done CH!!!!

I think Decatur had 4 int's and one fumble. Hard to win when you do that but a hard fought game and good one at that. Congrats CH !
