Who has the longest consecutive playoff appearances? I thought it was Yates

and

Who has the longest streak as a 3A school? 4A and 2A do not count.

You mean having to be classified as a 3A program the entire time? Or current schools that are class 3A?

Since the team has become a 3A for the 2nd question.

I think Houston Yates has the longest playoff streak going right now at like 34 years or more. Someone check my statement, but it just seems I read that in the Houston Chronicle or something. I know Celina has a claim to 20 or 21 consecutive years.

Yates has made the playoffs every year since 1977 so this would be their 37th consecutive year.
Pretty sure Abilene Wylie has the longest current streak while in 3A the whole time. I don't have any of my files accessible.
West Orange-Stark has made it every year since dropping to 3A in 2004, only losing one district game in 10 seasons.

Since the team has become a 3A for the 2nd question.

We have the highest percentage in 3a at 100%... 2/2 and 0 district games lost and 1/1 in SC's

we match you in the first two, except we hope to fulfill the SC part real soon.

Not as concise as my old tables would have put it but you can see the data from that. They haven't updated it since 2011 but it appears Abilene Wylie is making its 20th consecutive appearance all in 3A this year dating back to 1994. Celina is in its 22nd consecutive year but most of that was in 2A.

This is the Buckeyes 13th year in a row to make the playoffs with a 63-2 (damn Carthage 2010 & Kilgore 2013) record in distict play...all in 3-A...also...this is our 14th year in a row that no athlete has been inelligible to play due to grades.

Now that s impressive.

Are you speaking of just varsity footballers or all footballers.

or even All in Athletics programs at Gilmer.....either way it's impressive- says a lot about the community.

We really get the irony.

May not be too tough to stay grade eligible in Gilmer..........LOL.

Is that all season, or just the playoffs?

Imagine how this stat will look in 10,20,30 years from now with four teams going to playoffs, unfortunately the meaning of this stat has been greatly devalued.

Depends on if you want to count the old 3A before the shift in 1980. Brownwood OFFICIALLY has 6 state championships at the UIL 3A level (1960, 1965, 1967, 1969, 1970, 1978) and Breckenridge has 5 (1951, 1952, 1954, 1958, 1959) although both were essentially the equivalent of 4A since there was no 5A until 1980. Sealy has 4 (1994, 1995, 1996, 1997).

3A or its equivalent. That is why I am saying Sealy. They won all 4 SCs in the present Class 3A. Southlake Carroll has 1 in 3A and Celina has 2 in 3A if I not mistaken.
China Spring has a SC but I consider it to be at the 2A level.('78)
