That sounds right. I haven't had direct in two years though. On Dish it's 416

LOL... I don't care who you are... that's pretty funny jason.

Having played for the program, I do have a LOT of respect for the rich tradition. Not many like it in the country. Having not won a State Championship since 1981 and having 7 titles all together, they still believe every year they can get there. That's deep tradition right there. Lion Pride runs deep. Good stuff.

I always respect true tradition.. And like it, or not.. Brownwood's is real and not debatable.

Hollywood, who was coaching Brownwood when you played?

It was Randy Allen's 2nd year when I moved there going into my freshman year. One of the greatest coaches I've ever known. True leader and class act. Coach Wood would still come up to the practices. His greatness was still in the air. Just seeing him out there and knowing he was watching, elevated the entire practice.

Brought back lots of great memories for me! Saw several guys I grew up looking up to. Coach West, Coach Blackburn, Coach Harrell, Coach Allen, list goes on.

It is supposed to be available on DVD through the Bwood Chamber of Commerce and through the Gordon Wood Museum.

Can't help but wonder how many State Championships Brownwood might have if there was more than one playoff team from each district during Gordon Wood's early years.

Yes I did. He was actually a year ahead of me.

The class he was in was loaded and had a ton of seniors. We were picked to go pretty deep that season but were upset by a scrappy WF Hirschi Huskies team in the 2nd round.

Decaturs head Coach Kyle Story played for Coach Wood. Leads his program in a similar way.

I've always wished someone in know in Brownwood would put together a Gordon Wood Coaching Tree. Listing Assistants and former players that went on to coach and in turn help spread the Gordan Wood influence on the game.

Would be a great exhibit for the G. Wood Museum

Recorded it the other night and watched it last night. Very interesting story! Pretty cool to get into all the history of Wood football. What I found to be just as impressive was the history of Dallas Houston! Not many programs have a really good radio broadcaster like that. Would love to see more of these on other programs.

That's a good point about the radio broadcast Deuce. Good lawd some of these radio broadcasters would put Miley Cyrus asleep! Stephenville's Boots Elliot does a great job calling a play by play. Dallas Huston is one of the best in HS football. No doubt. Makes you visualize each play.
