Here's a look at who Argyle played thru the regular season and the results of those games:
Week 0: Abilene Wylie 38-0
Week 1: Ft. Worth Nolan Catholic 44-21 (Scored 7 in 3rd & 14 in 4th on 2nd teamers)
Week 2: Paris 53-7 (Scored 7 in 4th on 2nd team)
Week 3: Kennedale 45-7 (Scored 7 in 2nd on starters)
Week 4: Wilmer Hutchins 52-12 (Scored 12 in 4th on backups)
Week 5: Dallas Madison 66-7 (Scored 7 in 3rd on 2nd team)
Week 6: Bye Off Week
Week 7: Carrollton Ranchview 65-9 (Scored 9 in 3rd on backups)
Week 8: Frisco Lone Star 53-7 (Scored 7 in 4th on backups)
Week 9: Aubrey 59-8 (Scored 8 in 4th on backups)
Week 10: Celina 63-13 (Scored 13 in 2nd on Starters)

Total points for Argyle: 538>>>53.8 avg/game
Total points against Argyle: 89>>> 8.9 avg/game
Total points against Starters: 20>>>2.0 avg/game

These are only the stats of scoring in the above the games, and don't tell the whole story. I believe the only team not making the playoffs this season is Aubrey. But that's not really saying a whole lot this season, lol.

How did WH score 14 on the backups, but only scored 12 total? ;)

Eagles have something special this year. I expect to see them win the title.

That's what these scoring stats show. I guess you could say Wylie has a decent defense....even in Week 0. We did have most of our regular starters playing back then and we did have lots of returnees from the previous season. We did beat Prosper in our scrimmage the previous week, also. So it's not like Argyle started slow.

How did Argyle get voted past all those other deep SEC teams? Lol for real though that is an impressive season to turn in. I wish Gilmer's defensive numbers looked like that, but we gotta trust our guys to handle it when it counts. I'll admit I got excited about not facing Argyle this year but now that it's pretty much set in stone, I'm glad we got the reality check by Kilgore so our guys will be prepared. I hate it thay Argyle has to do it without 2 great players and I hope both teams stay healthy leading up to the meeting.

Just out of curiosity, I plugged in Stephenville's opponents records. It was limited with just 9 games and Mexico's short stent in Tejas. Below are the results. Similar to Argyle's opponents winning %.

Monterrey PT Mexico 1-4 (vs Texas HS football teams)
Aledo 10-0
Ft Lauderdale Dillard, FL 7-3
Waco La Vega 5-5
Amarillo 5-5
Glen Rose 4-5
Alvarado 6-4
Venus 5-5
Hillsboro 3-7

Funny how everyone is still dissing this years team and not giving them a chance. A lot of people dissed last years team just the same. All the "experts" had Kilgore, Carthage, El Campo... anyone but Stephenville winning it all. What did they know? LOL

Not you bobcat1, you get it. ;)

Comical that just because a team is doing well, program is doing well, when someone gives them some props, everyone else thinks they are boasting or bragging. Good grief.. this is a message board. Some people need to lightin' up a little!

So far this year, it's been about Kilgore (again), Gilmer, Argyle (deservingly so), Navasota (again), Carthage (again). Not many "experts" think Stephenville has the team this year, again. Well, guess what... they do. Half of the starters on both sides of the ball have rings. They know how to win championships. Does that grant them the championship this year, no. But they know what it takes and will try their best to lead the others to do it again. I've seen Kilgore and Gilmer. They did not perform like State caliber teams on Friday. Neither one of them. And this was week 10!! If they expect to get to the big dance this year, they both will have to play a lot better each week from here on out. I'm sure they know that and I'm sure they will correct the issues of not executing up to a championship level.

LOL, just trying to stir it up a little adoptedbuckeye! It's been kinda boring this season. I bring a lot of it on myself. Some people take it a little too serious though. ;)

I know Gilmer can get it done! Talent all over the field. What makes a team state caliber is execution. There are many teams around the state that have talent. The ones that can execute week in and week out, even against the toughest competition, are the ones that win State Titles. Best of luck to the Buckeyes. I truly hope to see you there. A Gilmer/Graham rematch would be epic!
