LH comes off a 9-1 season to take on Hillsboro (3-7). Panthers nearly lost to Gatesville due to poor prep and takin a week off. Yep I said, they didn't take care of getting ready for a team that wanted to win badly and it showed. In the end LH pulled it out. This week, everyone has pulled their heads out and decided to get back to business. Don't know anything about Hillsboro other than it looks like they are run based team. Who ya got?

If LH plans on making a deep run this year then they should be able to win this game by as much as they want.

What D'Highlander said. Hillsboro has athletes with talent. They have some serious speed, but thin on numbers. Maybe 22 players on the squad. If Liberty Hill is good enough to make a deep run, they should handle Hillsboro in dominating fashion.

I think every team "plans" on making a deep run, but the plans don't always materialize. From what I have seen this season, LH can make a deep run into the playoffs, and it starts each week by planning and execution in practice with no BS. They are back on track with that approach. Now at the end of the season, we have some injuries, but 2nds coming in are filling in nicely. We carry nearly 50 on the roster. They are bringing up some JV kids as well. The offense and defense are platooned, so no one starts both ways either side of the ball. We have some kids that could easily go both ways and we might be better for it, but with the way the coaches are doing it this year, players are fresher, injuries don't impact both sides of the ball, and kids have been able to really focus on what they are doing. We have faced several teams with speed, so we know how to handle that. I haven't seen Hillsboro so I won't say by how much, but LH will take this one and advance.

LH should be good until Area Finals..,then they should come up against an undefeated Shallowater team. If they survive area final then they will run into a buzz saw in Graham. I see state final possibly being Graham and Argyle. Good luck to LH in their quest.

No punches, but he certainly gets fired up when the other team starts mouthin off and takes extra special pleasure in leveling the one that does the mouthin off. Lets just say he is a very physical player.

We already did that and it 'bout bit us in the arse. It won't happen again, especialy since its now a one and done scenario. One game at a time, don't overlook anyone. Play all out and let that decide the outcomne of the game. GO PANTHERS!!!!!!

LH not taking any team lightly and expecting each game to be a dogfight. It's one and done if you lose, so each opponent will be playing for the right to keep playing. We will be ready.

Did a bit o' calculatin and pulling some data form Maxpreps this morning and since we really don't throw the ball, I don't get to throw up any fancy passng stats or QB ratings:

LH offense has on average rushed for 338 yd/game, passed for about 13 yd/game, and scored on average 32 pts/game. Rushing is spread among about 4 different backs
LH defense has allowed on average 15 pts/game, had 35 sacks across ten games, with 6 interceptions and numerous pass deflections.

Hillsboro, what ya got???

Lets hope Mr. Williams has some blocking or it will be a long night for him. What little info I could find, indicates Hillsboro has given up a fair amount of points defensively, while not scoring a lot of points offensively. Is this due to opponents played in their district and preseason? Hmmmm. Guess we'll see Friday night.

PS - we can throw - and it usually happens a couple times a game when least expecting it.

I said it would be close and it looks like it was. One possession game. And I think in the end the lack of depth hurt Llano.

I agree that it was going to be close. It sounded to me that Glen Rose went very conservative the last 10 min of the game when they were 15 points up. They should have kept the pressure on. Because they allowed Llano back in the game having to punt their last 3 possessions.

Was GR running out of gas there at the end or just felt they had it in the bag. That GR fumble there in the 4th nearly changed the entire game, but GR got it right back. Why didn't Llano just run it in to get the score?

Like I said, it appeared G'Rose was going into conservative mode to protect the lead and try to run out the clock. It backfired on them. They play best in hurry up mode. Good question about Llano. Not sure. They actually had several chances to get back in it, but made mistakes or just didn't execute. Glen Rose is a very young team this season. A lot of Jr's and Soph's.

Hillsboro's speedy players on offense won't matter to the Barneys.....their whole defense is fast....I really like their secondary...hard to create separation against them.....
