At the State cross country meet today, Lytle and Alvarado tied for first for the team state championship. The title went to Lytle because their sixth (the places of each team's top five runners are added together; the lower the sum the better) runner finished ahead of Alvarado's sixth runner. What a motivational factor to stress the importance that everyone is vital to team success.
