It seems to me the only thing Freshman and JV teams tells us is how much underclass talent plays on the varsity. My Farmersville team for instance has just 6 seniors on the entire team and 12 sophomores and now 4 freshmen are playing on the varsity. The fans of all the other teams in the district are somehow predicting the future of these programs based on freshmen and JV scores/records! Do you guys think Freshman and JV scores/records prove anything about the future?

A lot of times it says more about your current varsity squad. We have every soph. that can play on the varsity because we need them, plus a freshman. If your varsity is deep, you can leave soph's down.

That's not true....at least not in Argyle. Argyle has 31 seniors this season and 15 sophs on varsity. We have 10 juniors also on the varsity. Coach Rodgers has been successful in doing it this way, and somehow the JV and Fresh teams still win. And this school only has an enrollment of 668(698 on Snapshot for realignment). That's a very high percentage of boys playing football for a school this size. And Argyle still has to divide up a some of its students in the school district with Argyle Liberty Christian, although not that many. But still, Liberty Christian is a heckuva nice school in TAPPS and has won some State Championships in all the sports. And they have excellent facilities. And they are in probably the most competitive conference for their Division. So they do draw a few away that are homeboys.
