Over on Smoaky early this year I posted that Athens might need to be a team to watch. Last year everyone said they were a team that you could not take for granted and they were a good team. This year they return the entire team both ways and they seem to have a lot of momentum. Athens takes this one in a close game.

Athens has some really good athletes and they run that wing tee/slot tee/straight tee whatever you wanna call it very well. But they have zero passing game and they don't defend the pass well. They'll put up a ton of yards on CH, but they won't be able to keep up on the scoreboard. Chapel Hill is too explosive.

I agree with you on that Aggie but it wouldn't surprise me if Athens was able to control clock and narrowly pull off a win. However, Athens is prone to fumbling the football and that'll kill them if they do. Also not much depth and their QB is also their starting safety. Their fullback is a bull of a RB though and appeared to be the key to their offense. He is their biggest weapon. We (Van) struggled getting their offense off the field. Didn't give up many huge plays but they just kept pounding away. Their fumbling (forced, but still) kept us in the game until the end. Athens won 28-23. Van was able to move the ball both passing and running so I would think CH will as well. I don't think either team can afford to turn the ball over in this one.

Win/loss records would tell me that Athens has the upper hand in this one, but I know CH is always deep with athletes. I'll take CH by a td.
